Kinston's bats made the trip back home, as the K-Tribe lit up the scoreboard for a second straight night, beating Winston-Salem 9-8 Thursday night at Historic Grainger Stadium. The Columbus Clippers finished off a four game sweep of the Durham Bulls on Tuesday winning an early morning matchup 5-3. Lefty Scott Barnes earned the win going five innings and allowed two runs on five hits, three walks, and seven strikeouts.

High-A Kinston left-handed starter Drew Pomeranz was scheduled to pitch on Monday night but ended up not making the start. He is not injured and the Indians just had him skip his start to monitor his innings. There was some thought last night that he may be on his way to Double-A Akron, but as of now he is scheduled to make his next start for Kinston on Saturday.

Double-A Akron outfielder Tim Fedroff was named the Eastern League's Player of the Week for the period ending May 16-22. For the week he hit .583 (14-24) with 2 2B, 1 3B, 5 RBI, 8 runs scored, 2 stolen bases, 4 BB, and a .750 slugging percentage. He had four multi-hit games during the week and extended his hitting streak to 16 games, which is the second longest streak in the Eastern League this season....
