Tonight I am back on the cyberwaves with another edition of "Smoke Signals" from 9:30-10:30 PM EST. I say "I" because my partner in crime Paul Cousineau is on his way to Milwaukee for the weekend and will not be able to co-host tonight. But as they always say the show must go on, and at the moment I am planning on still doing the show so long as I can find another co-host for the night which may...

Talk about being thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Outfielder and 2010 10th round draft pick Tyler Holt was signed to a $500,000 bonus on Saturday early afternoon and then later that night immediately made his professional debut with Low-A Lake County going 1-for-4 with a triple in the contest. The fact he made his debut in Lake County and not at short-season Single-A Mahoning...
Sorry for the absence, I was in Peru for 3 weeks enjoying my time off before school starts up, I'll be around the rest of the season and all throughout the off-season to help out Tony and keep talking all things Clippers and Indians.
The Clippers beat the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees by a score of 5-1 on the strength of another great outing by Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco has heated up during...
Clippers run past Yankees, 5-1
Things in Columbus were moving just a bit too fast for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees on Tuesday night, as the speedy top of the Clippers lineup and ace Carlos Carrasco led the hosts to a 5-1 victory at Huntington Park.
The first three Clippers reached base in the first inning, with Jose Constanza, who singled, scoring on a double from Ezequiel Carrera,...

Connor Graham – RP, Akron: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R/ER, 1 BB, 1 K.
Graham looks to have found a permanent home in the bullpen, a move that occurred in May with no looking back. Since arriving in the bullpen he has really began to settle in, and in his last 11 appearances is now 1-0 with a 1.04 ERA and in 17.1 innings has allowed 11 hits, 4 walks and has 19 strikeouts.
Jon Burnette – 1B,...

Clippers get to Harang early, sweep Bats
After a pair of losses in Columbus, the Louisville Bats turned to a Major League ace on a rehab assignment looking to turn their fortunes around, but Aaron Harang (0-1) couldn't stop the Clippers' recent momentum and Columbus swept the Bats out of town, 7-3.
The Clippers scored in the first when Jared Goedert's sacrifice fly plated Jose Constanza....
Entering week 19, Kinston felt the wrath of the Lynchburg Hillcats. For those counting at home, the Hillcats are the last place team in the Northern Division of the Carolina league. Obviously, someone forgot to tell the Hillcats, as they took three of four from the K-Tribe, and seemingly put to rest any chance of a playoff appearance for the Indians. When you lose to arguable the worst team in the...

Espino, Clippers shutout Bats, 1-0
The Louisville Bats have been on a tear through the International League in recent weeks, but the Clippers have apparently found the right formula against their division foes, with three pitchers teaming for a shutout Saturday night to give Columbus their second win in as many days, this time by a 1-0 score.
Paolo Espino (1-1) was sensational for...
