Clip & Dirty: 8/23
The Columbus Clippers are in the thick of a competitive IL-West divisional race with the Lousiville Bats. The Clippers went into last night’s matchup with the Toledo Mud Hens knowing that Louisville was only a ½ game ahead in the standings and that they had to win in order to keep pace down the stretch.
Things looked good as Columbus jumped out to an early lead on the strength of a HR...

During that time, the newly acquired Kluber has had to make the quick adjustment to a new organization, league, and teammates all on the fly. In his...

Game Recap 8/23: McBride Provides Walkoff Game Winner
Clippers end losing streak with walk-off, infield hit
When in the midst of a season-long losing streak, you'll take a win anyway you can get it. For the Clippers Monday night, that meant a walk-off win in which the ball never had to leave the infield in the ninth. Matt McBride's infield single to short earned Columbus a .500 record on their 10-game homestand, as they topped Toledo, 4-3.

Akron's Week That Was: 8/16 - 8/22
It was a crucial week for the Aeros as they took on third place Harrisburg in a three game weekend set at Canal Park. Saturday's contest was rained out, setting up an important shortened double-header between the Senators and Aeros. After Harrisburg won on Friday, they swept the double-header and the series on Sunday to not only put distance between themselves and Akron, but take over second place...

With a North Carolina weather report showcasing high 80's instead of the high 90's, it's time to get to this week's Sunday Drive so I can enjoy an afternoon in this wonderful, "cool" weather.
The Kinston Indians find themselves only a game-and-a-half out of a playoff spot during the second half of the season after a week that coulda/woulda/shoulda been better than the 4-3 record they recorded....

For the second straight night, starting pitching put the Clippers behind the eight-ball and their offense wasn't able to bring them back, as they fell 8-4 to Toledo in the opener of a two-city, five-game series at Huntington Park.
Paolo Espino was the International League's Pitcher of the Week for his efforts last week, but he lasted just...
