Over the past two months on this site we counted down the Indians Top 50 Prospects from #50 to #1, with #1 being unveiled this past weekend (I am sure the suspense in regard to who was #1 was killing you).
Anyway, here is a quick recap of the Top 100 listing. Yes, I said Top 100. While the site countdown was the Top 50, my book actually ranked the Top 100 and included an additional 65+ reports....
Here are the box scores from Monday's inter-squad games at Goodyear between Columbus/Akron and Kinston/Lake County. Some quick notes from the box scores:
- RHP Danny Salazar had a good outing, going three shutout innings and throwing 10 first pitch strikes to the 13 batters he faced. He may not get a lot of strikeouts, but he fills up the zone with strikes.
- LHP T.J. House had a...

Here is a current up-to-date listing showing the outlook for Indians Rule 5 Draft eligibles from 2010-2013. This listing does not include any recent International signings since July of 2009 (they will be added at a later date, but all won't be Rule 5 eligible until 2013). This listing will be housed in the "Indians Resource Center" along the right side for quick reference, and the 2010 listing will...
Opportunity Could Come Soon For Wright
Right-handed pitcher Steven Wright is in camp this spring battling for a job in the Triple-A Columbus bullpen to start the season. After a very good year last season pitching in the bullpen full time where he went 10-0 with a 2.48 ERA in 38 total appearances, mostly with Double-A Akron (36), he looks to be locked into one of the seven bullpen spots at...
On Saturday, the Indians held inter-squad scrimmages at the Goodyear complex where Triple-A Columbus played Double-A Akron and High-A Kinston played Low-A Lake County. The results are listed below:

Burns’ Unique Delivery Provides Lots Of Deception
Everything is still a new experience for right-hander Cory Burns.
Last year after being taken by the Indians in the 8th round out of the 2009 Draft out of the University of Arizona, Burns did well in his first taste of pro ball by going out to short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley and putting up a good showing by finishing 3-2 with...
Putnam Has Big League Aspirations
The Indians are going to go through a lot of arms this year as they look to build a reliable big league rotation and bullpen by the end of the season. With that in mind, it will be a lot of trial and error all season long as they find out who sticks and who doesn’t.
One of those pitchers who hopes to stick is right-hander Zach Putnam. He was a non-roster...
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have claimed infielder Anderson Hernandez off of outright waivers from the New York Mets. To allow room for Hernandez on the 40-man roster, infielder Brian Bixler was designated for assignment.
Hernandez, 27, spent all but one game last year with the New York Mets and Washington Nationals. He hit a combined .251 (92-366) in 123 games with 15 2B,...
Smith A Man On A Mission
Indians right-handed reliever Carlton Smith had a nice year last season pitching in the bullpen at Double-A Akron where he went 6-2 with a 2.72 ERA in 37 appearances. He piggybacked his successful year with a trip to the Arizona Fall League (5.14 ERA, 12 G) and then to the Indians’ Winter Development Program this past January which was held in Cleveland and Goodyear....
