This morning the Indians optioned LHP Jeremy Sowers and C Wyatt Toregas to Triple-A Columbus and reassigned RHP Greg Aquino, INF Michael Aubrey, OF Michael Brantley, OF Matt LaPorta, and RHP Kirk Saarloos to minor league camp. Currently there are 37 players in Major League camp.
Also, with Sowers being optioned out, it is a two-dog race for the 5th starter spot now between Scott Lewis and Aaron...
As a wrapup to the Indians Top 100 Prospect list, here are some answers to some popular questions from the listing. While I left the scouting reports more to fact and insight from scouts, players, and coaches, I left out my personal thoughts on each player for obvious reasons.

Here are the box scores from the minor league spring games on Monday March 23rd against the Milwaukee Brewers affiliates. Again, as a note, "FPS" under the pitching stats stands for "first pitch strikes". Also, some stats are missing like the runs scored in the Columbus game and the velocities in the Mahoning game....these were not entered during the game.

Here are the box scores from the minor league spring games on Saturday March 21st against the Chicago White Sox affiliates. It was feast or famine as Akron scored 19 runs on 21 hits including 7 home runs. On the flip side, Kinston managed just one hit in their entire game.
(Note, for the Mahoning Valley box score, no offensive stats were compiled and some of the pitching stats are missing)...
Not much to report at the moment with releases, but apparently on Thursday the Indians made some cuts. One of those players was supposedly Todd Martin. Hopefully I can find out who some of the other guys may have been soon.
Also, I haven't mentioned this yet, but last week right-hander Joe Ness was released. Also, apparently catcher Brian Juhl has retired, though I am awaiting confirmation...

You'll notice some Indians big leaguers like Carmona, Perez, Hafner, Shoppach and others played in the Columbus/Akron game, and one item of note to come from that game is Carmona...
