Second Thoughts Game #117: Cleveland 3, NY Yankees 0
Corey Kluber took his deadpan routine to New York on Saturday, and despite a brief injury scare in the fourth inning, all would appear to be well with the Cleveland ace. With scoring from Jose Ramirez hit the first home run of his career, a short two-run blast, and Michael Brantley adding an insurance run in the Eighth, it was Corey Kluber who monopolized the spotlight. The IBI's John Grimm looks back, not only on Corey Kluber's season, but attempting to situate Kluber's season in Indians history.

Around the Farm: August 9, 2014
The story really has not changed much for Moncrief this season, as after a rough first two months from an overall performance standpoint, the 25-year-old has started getting better results without fixing his plate discipline. That still remains true, as evidenced by Moncrief's performance Saturday night. Join Jim Piascik as he breaks down Moncrief's season and the action throughout the minor league system as he takes you Around the Farm.

Second Thoughts Game #116: Cleveland 6, NY Yankees 10
While the 10-6 score suggests a baseball game that was an offensive explosion, Friday's contest was a game that was neither nearly as close as it looked nor one driven predominantly by offense. While Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer's control was far from pristine, the Cleveland defense defined the night, making two critical errors and setting the tone for Cleveland early. The IBI's John Grimm gives a year-to-date review of the Cleveland defense and the ignoble history they approach.

Plutko, Mudcats fall to Pelicans, 5-1
An early deficit proved too much for the Carolina Mudcats to overcome Friday as they fell to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-1 at Five County Stadium. The Mudcats found themselves in a hole early as Myrtle Beach took the lead against Carolina starter Adam Plutko in the top of the first. With two away and men on the corners, Nick Williams put the Pelicans ahead with a double to right as Chris Garia scored easily.
