Tribe Happenings: Cautious optimism after Carrasco outing
Carlos Carrasco pitched a very good game for the Indians in their series finale against the Yankees on Sunday. The IBI's Tony Lastoria talks about why that start was encouraging, why his time in the bullpen may have allowed him to find himself and what we should take out of that start - if anything. He also talks about the recent injury to Nick Swisher and the opportunity to see Zach Walters, the departure of Vinnie Pestano, the continuing struggles of Jason Kipnis and much more...

Second Thoughts Game #118: Indians 4, Yankees 1
The pendulum appears to be swinging the other way once again as they manage to finish their road trip strong with a series win in New York courtesy of Corey Kluber and, surprisingly, Carlos Carrasco, who both kept the Yankees bats in check over the final two games of the series. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on the victory.

Mudcats fall to Pelicans, 5-1
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans doubled up the Carolina Mudcats in hits ten to five Sunday as they claimed the series sweep with a 5-1 victory. Carolina starter Cole Sulser kept the Mudcats in the game with a solid pitching effort, but Christopher Bostick put the game out of reach in the bottom of the seventh with a three-run homer off newly-acquired Michael Clevinger.

Clippers held in check by RailRiders, 5-1
Coming off the back of three wins, it might be easy to assume a team could continue their roll. That wasn’t the case for the Columbus Clippers (65-57) on Sunday afternoon, as they recorded only four hits in a 5-1 loss against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (58-63).

Scrappers shutout by Yankees, 8-0
A very hard loss for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers as they played the Staten Island Yankees. The bats could not come through to produce runners to get runs which is why the loss was devastating. The Scrappers took a hard loss to the Yankees with a 8-0 game.

Second Thoughts Game #117: Cleveland 3, NY Yankees 0
Corey Kluber took his deadpan routine to New York on Saturday, and despite a brief injury scare in the fourth inning, all would appear to be well with the Cleveland ace. With scoring from Jose Ramirez hit the first home run of his career, a short two-run blast, and Michael Brantley adding an insurance run in the Eighth, it was Corey Kluber who monopolized the spotlight. The IBI's John Grimm looks back, not only on Corey Kluber's season, but attempting to situate Kluber's season in Indians history.

Around the Farm: August 9, 2014
The story really has not changed much for Moncrief this season, as after a rough first two months from an overall performance standpoint, the 25-year-old has started getting better results without fixing his plate discipline. That still remains true, as evidenced by Moncrief's performance Saturday night. Join Jim Piascik as he breaks down Moncrief's season and the action throughout the minor league system as he takes you Around the Farm.

Second Thoughts Game #116: Cleveland 6, NY Yankees 10
While the 10-6 score suggests a baseball game that was an offensive explosion, Friday's contest was a game that was neither nearly as close as it looked nor one driven predominantly by offense. While Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer's control was far from pristine, the Cleveland defense defined the night, making two critical errors and setting the tone for Cleveland early. The IBI's John Grimm gives a year-to-date review of the Cleveland defense and the ignoble history they approach.
