Columbus Clippers beat Louisville Bats 1-0 in pitchers' duel
The Columbus Clippers scored in the top of the first before going eight innings without another run. Luckily for them, the Clippers were able to hold the Louisville Bats scoreless throughout the game. Columbus' run came off an RBI from Jesus Aguilar while Gabriel Arias picked up the win after tossing 7.2 innings of shutout ball. Mark Lowe picked up his 15th save of the season.

After coming out of the All Star break with a bang, the Indians have lost their last two games. Can they rebound on Tuesday? Clippers surrender late-lead, fall To Indians, 7-5
When you play a team ten consecutive times, you are going to be happy to see the back of them. That’s probably how the Columbus Clippers (54-49) and Indianapolis Indians (56-47) felt on Sunday evening after the Indians 7-5 win, one which wrapped up a slate of ten-straight games between the two squads.

Erie SeaWolves second baseman Devon Travis clubbed a three-run homer in the eighth inning Sunday afternoon as the SeaWolves defeated the Akron RubberDucks, 5-2, at Canal Park.

Captains fall to River Bandits in pitching duel, 2-1
The Lake County Captains (15-14, 42-57) had the leading run at the plate in the top of the ninth with two outs, but they could not tie the game as they fell to the Quad Cities River Bandits (14-15, 49-49) 2-1 on Sunday evening. The Captains have dropped five-straight games on the heels of a six-game winning streak.

Mudcats earn first series win at Myrtle Beach
The Carolina Mudcats scored a 4-3 triumph over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Sunday night at TicketReturn.com Field to claim their first series win on the Grand Strand. The Mudcats (19-12, 48-50) extended their lead to three games over the Pelicans (16-15, 60-39) in the Carolina League Southern Division as well.

Scrappers destroy Ironbirds, 14-3
The bats were swinging today here at the Eastwood field where the Mahoning Valley Scrappers played the Aberdeen Ironbirds. With amazing at bats today the Scrappers took home another win. As the Scrappers kept producing the hits needed they brought home another win against the Ironbirds with a score of 14-3.

Second Thoughts Game #96-97: Cleveland Takes Two in Detroit
A doubleheader meets the most-used bullpen in the majors. If Francona were concerned about the state of his bullpen before the doubleheader began, his concerns dissipated after Kluber went 8.2 quality innings in the first game of the day, leading to a two-win doubleheader that put Cleveland in a position to sweep a four-game series in Detroit. The IBI's John Grimm notes how one apparently isolated incident, Francona's decision to leave Kluber in for the ninth, problematizes run differential as evaluation.

Indians cruise past Clippers in standings after 15-5 win
Top of the first and the Indianapolis Indians went to town. A single homer blasted into left field got the Indians on the board and they were not through. A three-run homer followed by a two run big fly put the Indians atop the Clippers 6-0 going into the bottom of the first.

Lake County blanked in loss to Quad Cities, 6-0
The Quad Cities River Bandits (13-15, 48-49) took advantage of a wild fifth inning to add some insurance runs and the pitching staff held the Lake County Captains (15-13, 42-56) to only three hits. Quad Cities took the series opener 6-0 on Saturday night.
