Second Thoughts Game #15: Indians 5, Tigers 7
Despite the efforts of Michael Brantley and Lonnie Chisenhall, the Indians could not overcome the pitching woes of Danny Salazar and the bullpen on Thursday. Even though the Indians managed to make Justin Verlander work during five innings, the Tiger bullpen came in and held the lead as they split the brief two-game series in Motown. The IBI's Jake Dungan recaps Thursday's loss.

Captains Sink Bees 6-3, end eight-game skid
Lake County left fielder Cody Ferrell tallied three hits, including a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning, as the Captains beat the Burlington Bees by a final of 6-3. Ferrell now has eight RBI’s on the season. The Captains snapped an eight-game losing streak with the win.

RubberDucks rally to beat Baysox 3-2
After splitting three series and losing one outright in 2014, the Akron RubberDucks were looking for a victory to set the tone for the series. Akron was able to do just that taking the opening game of the three-game series with a 3-2 win on Thursday. Akron’s hurlers have now allowed just eight runs in the past four games, and continued that success on Thursday as Will Roberts, Tyler Sturdevant and Kyle Crockett combined to throw a six hit, two-run performance.

Mudcats fall in extra innings 10-2 to Red Sox
The Mudcats dropped a heartbreaker 10-2 to the Salem Red Sox in extra innings on Thursday night. A disastrous tenth inning that included four Mudcats’ errors, ultimately, cost Carolina the game. Mudcats manager Scooter Tucker thought the team played well, but was disappointed with the tenth inning collapse.

Clippers shutout Mud Hens 3-0, allow four hits
It has been a while since the Columbus Clippers (5-7) last played, but the team returned to the field in style, on Thursday. After being rained out for the past two days in Indianapolis, the Clippers were forced to move on to Toledo -- and move on they did. Good pitching from the entire staff was instrumental as the Clippers cruised to a 3-0 win over the Toledo Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field.

Carolina Mudcats sweep Salem Red Sox in cold doubleheader
The Carolina Mudcats managed to brave cold weather and beat the Salem Red Sox twice in a doubleheader Wednesday. The first game ended with a 4-0 Mudcats victory, while the second was tight contest, finishing 2-1 in favor of Carolina. Ollie Linton's run scored in the fourth inning of game two proved to be the final piece in completing the doubleheader sweep.

Columbus Clippers beat Toledo, 3-1, Trevor Bauer fans nine
After two days of postponements due to weather, the Columbus Clippers took on the Toledo Mud Hens Wednesday. The Clippers hung on to win 3-1, after starting off with a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Highly-ranked pitching prospect Trevor Bauer pitched six scoreless innings, giving up five hits and a walk while striking out nine Toledo batters.

Lake County Captains lose 7th and 8th straight games to Peoria
A doubleheader led to two more losses for the Lake County Captains Wednesday night. The Captains, who have now lost eight consecutive games, fell to the Peoria Chiefs, 4-0, two times in a row. The offense simply never got going for Lake County, as the team totaled seven hits over 14 innings of play.
