2014 MLB Draft: Day 2 info
Today the draft kicks back up at 1pm ET and will only cover rounds 3-10. As each pick is made today we will have info up literally minutes after it is announced. This is a quick note that I am posting to the site to remind everyone that the picks for today will not show on the front page or in the front page slider. They will all post to the newswire to the right and in the "News" section at the top of the site.

2014 MLB Draft: First day thoughts and more
The Indians made four selections on the first day of the 2014 MLB Draft on Thursday picking up college outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Mike Papi along with prep pitchers Justus Sheffield and Grant Hockin. This was a big night for the Indians as they had three first round picks and a chance with such a deep draft to really bring in some top shelf talent into the system. The IBI's Tony Lastoria shares his thoughts and provides insight on all of the picks and the IBI's Jeff Ellis also shares his thoughts and previews the top talent still on the board as we move into rounds three through ten today.

Anderson tosses gem, but Akron RubberDucks lose, 1-0
The Akron RubberDucks kept it even through six innings, but ended up losing to the New Britain Rock Cats, 1-0. New Britain took the win after Tony Thomas hit a home run in the seventh inning. Cody Anderson pitched six shutout innings for the RubberDucks, but was slapped with the no decision even though he gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out five.

Sever walk helps Carolina Mudcats to comeback win against Dash
After a rain delay of almost 90 minutes, the Carolina Mudcats came back to beat the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-4, Thursday. Carolina moved to within six games of .500 by piling up just seven hits and scrapping out the win despite the Dash totaling 10 hits. Mudcats starter D.J. Brown gave up nine hits and four runs in 4.1 innings, but his bullpen combined to pitch 4.2 scoreless frames with six strikeouts.

Lake County Captans take two from Fort Wayne TinCaps
The Lake County Captains totaled 12 runs as they took both games of a doubleheader against the Fort Wayne TinCaps Thursday. After Wednesday's game was postponed, the Captains and Fort Wayne each managed 10 hits in the first game, and eight hits in the second, but Lake County ended with the scoring touch. The Captains used the wins to move to 22-38 on the season.

Captains Notebook: Frazier, Kime starting to turn things around
The Lake County Captains recorded a 2-3 record last week, including a rainout on June 4. The team partook in some close games last week, including a one-run win and a one-run loss to the South Bend Silver Hawks. Cabrera's walk-off blast sends Indians over Boston, 7-4
Rain couldn't even cool off the blazing Tribe. Tied at 4-4 in the 12th inning, Asdrubal Cabrera connected on a game-winning three-run homer to send the Indians over Boston, 7-4, completing the three-game series sweep. The hit came four hours and 29 minutes after first pitch, and six hours and 57 minutes form Wednesday's original scheduled start time.
