Tribe returns favor with 12-3 blowout win over Cincinnati
If you are a key Indians prospect, you were probably hitting, walking, driving in runs, scoring runs or flashing leather in the field on Thursday as the Indians put a 12-3 shellacking on the Reds at Goodyear Ballpark. Carlos Carrasco earned the win and deservedly so after two perfect innings of work in the third and fourth while the Indians bats came to life in a fury. Asdrubal Cabrera: At the corner of BABIP and plate discipline
In 2013, Asdrubal Cabrera hit the ball extremely well. This is not a popular opinion; however, in 2013, Cabrera’s line drive rate of 23.4% was a well-above league average clip. Some have attributed Cabrera's plate discipline issues as a major factor that weighed down his BABIP last season, but the IBI's John Grimm explains that there is no evidence suggesting that plate discipline and BABIP are correlated.

Indians drop spring opener to Reds, 8-3
It may not feel like it in Cleveland, but baseball is officially back. The Indians dropped their Cactus League opener against their state rival Cincinnati Reds Wednesday afternoon, 8-3. Outscoring the Tribe 6-1 over the final four frames, Cincy cruised to the easy victory in the spring opener at Goodyear Ballpark. IBI Tribe beat reporter Jim Berdysz recaps the action.

Smoke Signals s7e3: The Indians' Spring Training Questions
The Cleveland Indians opened up against the Cincinnati Reds today, officially kicking off the 2014 MLB season.
