Columbus Clippers rally to beat Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 10th
There was free baseball at Huntington Park as the Clippers rallied in the bottom of the 10th to beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 6-5. With the Pigs up by one the Clippers had one last chance. With two outs Carson sent a grounder through the infield gap out to centerfield to reach first. Ramsey followed with a double, moving Carson to third.

Mudcats Notebook: Monsalve's working to be more focused
A rainy spell throughout the Carolinas put a damper on the Carolina Mudcats week, as the team went just 2-3 with two games being postponed. Carolina is still very much in the playoff race with the first half division champion Pelicans once again in the driver’s seat and the Winston Salem Dash just one-half game ahead of the Mudcats for the final playoff spot. The IBI's Zach Francis recaps the week that was for the Mudcats and had a chance to sit down and talk with Alex Monsalve about his season.

Scouting the Indians 2014 Draft: Part 3
Over the past few weeks and upcoming weeks the IBI's Tony Lastoria will continue to post pieces on all of the players that the Indians drafted and signed from the 2014 Draft. RubberDucks Notebook: von Schamann working to get ahead
The RubberDucks (67-56) went on a bit of a hot streak, winning six of their last seven games thanks to some great pitching. Akron is now just 1.5 GB of first-place Richmond and 6.5 games ahead of third-place Bowie in the EL Western playoff race. It was another rainy night in the organization, with four rainouts (including the big league club). But the rain did not dampen every team and it certainly did not keep Anthony Gallas down. The RubberDucks outfielder has done nothing but impress since being called up to Akron and that was no different Tuesday night. Akron Rubberducks rally to beat Portland Sea Dogs, 5-4
The Akron RubberDucks fell into a 4-1 deficit in the sixth inning, but piled on four runs in the final two frames to beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-4. Both teams combined for 11 hits in the game, but it was Akron that picked up the key hits when it mattered most. Shawn Armstrong picked up the win while Elvis Araujo was credited with his third save of the season.

Mahoning Valley Scrappers shutdown State College Spikes
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers and State College Spikes were each scoreless through innings, but the Scrappers amped up their offense to win 5-0. Bradley Zimmer led the way with three hits and two RBIs, including his 10th double of the year. David Speer picked up the win after going four innings in relief and giving up just five hits and no runs while striking out four.

Lindor, Columbus Clippers pile on 6 in 4th in win against IronPigs
Outside of the fourth inning, the Columbus Clippers were held in check by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Fortunately for the Clippers, that fourth inning yielded six runs to power Columbus to a 6-1 win and erase an early deficit. Francisco Lindor finished with two hits, one home run and three RBIs, showing off his blue-chip ability.

Minor Happenings: Pannone showing growth in return to AZL
In this week's first installment of Minor Happenings, the IBI's Tony Lastoria takes a look at the development that lefty Thomas Pannone is making out in Arizona. There is a lot to like about him and Tony runs down his stuff, what he is working on and where he is making strides. Columbus Clippers blanked by Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 4-0
The Columbus Clippers equaled the Lehigh Valley IronPigs' seven hits, but were blanked on the scoreboard in a 4-0 loss. Columbus managed just one extra base hit and went 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position and stranded eight. Zach McAllister took the loss despite pitching six solid innings of two-run ball.

Castillo's 2 HR power Captains past Tigers, 12-6
Ivan Castillo had four hits, two home runs, scored three runs and knocked in three as the Captains beat the TinCaps 12-6 on Sunday. Castillo’s second homer capped a three run top of the ninth inning. The Captains won three of the four contests played against Fort Wayne this weekend.
