Lake County Captans take two from Fort Wayne TinCaps
The Lake County Captains totaled 12 runs as they took both games of a doubleheader against the Fort Wayne TinCaps Thursday. After Wednesday's game was postponed, the Captains and Fort Wayne each managed 10 hits in the first game, and eight hits in the second, but Lake County ended with the scoring touch. The Captains used the wins to move to 22-38 on the season.

2014 MLB Draft: The Final Mock

The 2014 MLB Draft kicks off tonight and as always the IBI will be all over it providing news and info leading up to the Indians picks and then capsules for every player once they are made. Captains Notebook: Frazier, Kime starting to turn things around
The Lake County Captains recorded a 2-3 record last week, including a rainout on June 4. The team partook in some close games last week, including a one-run win and a one-run loss to the South Bend Silver Hawks. The offense remains the worst-hitting team in the Midwest League, but sits third in the home run rankings. The IBI's Stephanie Metzger reviews the Captains' previous week.

Second Thoughts Game #60: Red Sox 4, Indians 7
A phenomenal home stand ends with a bang as Asdrubal Cabrera becomes the latest walk-off hero with a three-run line drive homer in a late-night duel between the Tribe and Red Sox. The Indians complete not only the three-game sweep of the reigning World Series champs, but also the sweep of the home stand overall. You know it's a good night offensively on the farm when you average 10 runs per team. Columbus, Akron, and Carolina all went off at the plate Wednesday, scoring runs left and right on the way to victory. Leading the charge in Akron was a familiar face in second baseman Joey Wendle, as the infielder typically makes waves with his bat. Cabrera's walk-off blast sends Indians over Boston, 7-4
Rain couldn't even cool off the blazing Tribe. Tied at 4-4 in the 12th inning, Asdrubal Cabrera connected on a game-winning three-run homer to send the Indians over Boston, 7-4, completing the three-game series sweep. The hit came four hours and 29 minutes after first pitch, and six hours and 57 minutes form Wednesday's original scheduled start time. Akron RubberDucks beat New Britain Rock Cats, 9-6
The Akron RubberDucks were part of a sweep for Cleveland Indians minor league affiliates Wedneday as they beat the New Britain Rock Cats, 9-6 New Britain managed 11 hits, but still found themselves four behind in that category as seven of nine Akron starters had hits in the game. Matt Packer got the win after giving up four runs on six hits in five innings of work.

Columbus Clippers beat Gwinnett 9-4 in von Schamann debut
While the Gwinnett Braves managed eight hits and four runs, the output was no where near enough to push the visiting Columbus Clippers Wednesday. Columbus finished the shellacking with 13 hits and nine runs scored behind three-hit games from Justin Sellers and Jose Ramirez, and a three-RBI performance from Adam Abraham. Due von Schamann pitched five innings and gave up four runs in the win.

Crolina Mudcats topple Winston-Salem Dash behind 12-run outing
The Carolina Mudcats exploded for 12 runs off of 16 hits on their way to beating the Winston-Salem Dash Wednesday. Carolina's offense was sparked by a seven-run third inning while the Dash failed to score their second run until the top of the ninth. Mudcats' starter Shawn Morimando claimed his sixth win on the season with a six-inning, four-hit, one-run effort.

Second Thoughts Game #59: Red Sox 3, Indians 5
The Indians won their fifth game in a row and eighth straight at home with a 5-3 win against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. Lefty T.J. House pitched well and aside from a hiccup in the middle innings the bullpen locked it down late to preserve the win. The IBI's Tony Lastoria fills in and provides his second thoughts on House's performance, Michael Bourn's surge and Terry Francona's bullpen usage.

A rough stretch of the season for the Carolina Mudcats continued for another week as the team went just 2-5 on the week. Bourn helps Indians edge Boston, 5-3; Tribe wins five straight
The House is a Rockin'. Opposing teams at Progressive Field; don't bother knockin'. For the second straight night, the Indians relied on solid starting pitching and timely hitting to string together another big win in their house Tuesday. Deadlocked in a 3-3 tie against Boston in the seventh, Michael Bourn delievered on what eventually became the game's deciding hit. Storylines: Santana set to return to Indians on Friday
The Indians are set to activate Carlos Santana on Friday, Nick Swisher is about a week away from a rehab assignment in the minors and Zach McAllister will make his first rehab start in the minors at Low-A Lake County on Wednesday and Rays outfielder Will Myers is expected to miss at least two months. Wendle and Lavisky triple, RubberDucks beat Rock Cats 5-3
A pair of triples from Joe Wendle and Alex Lavisky plated three runs and helped the RubberDucks earn a win on the road at New Britain, 5-3. Akron was the first to get on the board in the top of the third.
