Second Thoughts Game #99: Indians 3, Twins 4
This was a winnable game that ended with an unfavorable result for the Indians. With each win of increasing importance, it’s a disappointing start to a three game series against the Minnesota Twins. The Indians battled the whole night to try and come from behind, managing to do so in the 8th inning on an RBI single from Roberto Perez, but a Bryan Shaw served up a solo homer in the bottom half of the inning that would prove to be the difference. It was a rough night for the Indians top four minor league affiliates as they totaled just four runs in the four games between them; however, there were a lot of interesting performances throughout the system and there was some big news as well. Lake County Captains fall in extra innings to Quad Cities, 5-2
The Lake County Captains forced extra innings before giving up three runs in the bottom of the 10th to lose to the Quad Cities River Bandits, 5-2. Lake County scored in the top of the ninth to tie the game after Quad Cities tallied both of its regulation runs in the bottom of the second. James Stokes and Trevor Frank combined for four innings of scoreless relief in the loss.

Mahoning Valley Scrappers blank Aberdeen IronBirds, 7-0
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers scored three runs in the first and four in the fourth on their way to a 7-0 victory against the Aberdeen IronBirds. Mahoning Valley had 13 hits in the win , sparked by triples from Bradley Zimmer and Drake Roberts. Only two Scrappers were held hitless in the game while three pitchers combined for the shutout.

Carolina Mudcats give up 5 in 4th, lose to Myrtle Beach, 5-1
The Carolina Mudcats held the Myrtle Beach Pelicans without a run for eight total innings, but gave up five in the fourth on their way to a 5-1 loss. The Mudcats were ahead after a run in the top of the third before David Lyon sparked the Myrtle Beach win with a two-out, three-run home run. Dylan Baker gave up all five runs in the loss while D.J. Brown pitched 4.1 innings of scoreless relief.

Akron RubberDucks stifled by Richmond Flying Squirrels
The Akron RubberDucks were shutout by the Richmond Flying Squirrels after managing just five hits. Richmond came out with the 2-0 win by holding six of nine RubberDucks starters hitless. Joseph Colon took the loss for Akron despite going five innings and give up just four hits and one run.

Columbus Clippers beat Louisville Bats 1-0 in pitchers' duel
The Columbus Clippers scored in the top of the first before going eight innings without another run. Luckily for them, the Clippers were able to hold the Louisville Bats scoreless throughout the game. Columbus' run came off an RBI from Jesus Aguilar while Gabriel Arias picked up the win after tossing 7.2 innings of shutout ball. Mark Lowe picked up his 15th save of the season.

Clippers surrender late-lead, fall To Indians, 7-5
When you play a team ten consecutive times, you are going to be happy to see the back of them. That’s probably how the Columbus Clippers (54-49) and Indianapolis Indians (56-47) felt on Sunday evening after the Indians 7-5 win, one which wrapped up a slate of ten-straight games between the two squads.

SeaWolves send RubberDucks to fourth-straight loss
Erie SeaWolves second baseman Devon Travis clubbed a three-run homer in the eighth inning Sunday afternoon as the SeaWolves defeated the Akron RubberDucks, 5-2, at Canal Park.
