There have been plenty of good nights for the Cleveland Indians as of late but unfortunately Tuesday was not one of them. The Tribe mustered only three hits and fell 5-1 to the Detroit Tigers. Max Scherzer did his best Justin Verlander impression, and the Indians' offense was stymied all night. Join Jim Berdysz as he looks back at all the action after the jump...
Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Edwin Garcia bounced an infield single inches past the glove of J.D. Reichenbach to plate the winning run as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans escaped the Carolina Mudcats 3-2 in 11 innings on Tuesday night at TicketReturn.com Field. The Cleveland Indians announced on Tuesday afternoon that first baseman Nick Swisher has been placed on the paternity list and infielder Cord Phelps has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus.
COLUMBUS- If there were to be a motto for the Columbus Clippers' game against the Scranton/WB RailRiders Tuesday, it would be "bend but don't break." Led by a dazzling performance by right-hander Carlos Carrasco (2-0, 1.36 ERA), the Columbus pitching staff allowed 11 hits to the RailRiders but only gave up one run and emerged with a 5-1 victory.
Things just did not come together for the Akron Aeros over the past week as the team dropped five out of six games and fell to 20-24 on the season. This Akron team remains young and talented, though it lacks the consistency needed to rise to the top of the Eastern League standings. Despite the losing, there were plenty of exemplary performances, major league pitchers making cameo appearances, and an outfielder risking life and limb to make plays. To read all about the week in Akron and find out all you need to know, join Jim Piascik and go Launching off with the Aeros.

Join Jim Pete, as he winds us through the daily baseball tidings in Monday's ATF.

AKRON- The Akron Aeros wasted a two-run ninth to drop a heartbreaker to the Bowie Bayson in 12 innings, 4-3. The Aeros got started quickly, however, for the second straight game.
