Columbus Clippers pounce on Louisville for 10-1 win
For the first time since returning to AAA May 16, Danny Salazar looked better than new. Salazar went seven innings, giving up one run on five hits and fanning nine. Columbus has won three in a row now after its 10-1 dominating victory against the Louisville Bats Monday night.

2014 MLB Draft: Papi set to come to Cleveland on Tuesday
First round pick Mike Papi's college season ended last week and his pro career is set to kick off later this week. He is set to come to Cleveland on Tuesday, sign his contract and then report to Mahoning Valley sometime over the weekend. Mudcats survive to beat Dash behind huge 2nd inning
Thanks to an early offensive surge, the Carolina Mudcats held on to defeat the Winston-Salem Dash 5-4 Sunday at BB&T Ballpark. After the Dash jumped ahead with a run in the bottom of the first, the Mudcats stormed back with four runs of their own in the top of the second to grab a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Captains fall to Dragons in pitcher's duel, 3-2
The Dayton Dragons (3-7, 39-39) broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the ninth inning with a sacrifice fly by centerfielder Gabriel Rosa to take Sunday’s game by a score of 3-2 over the Lake County Captains (7-3, 34-46). The last two games of the series have been won in the ninth inning by a sacrifice fly.

Banwart, Clippers blank Mud Hens, 4-0
Another impressive pitching performance, another solid win. Three days after Zach McAllister dominated the Buffalo Bisons, Travis Banwart repeated the feat against the Toledo Mud Hens, and went seven innings in a 4-0 Clippers win.

Scrappers upend Jammers in rain-shortened game, 8-3
The fans of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers were certainly entertained today. After a four loss streak the streak was finally over. Playing the Jamestown Jammers that Scrappers took an eighth inning game win that was interrupted by the rain. After eight innings the Scrappers defeated the Jammers 8-3.

Adam Abraham drives in six, RubberDucks win 11-2
Adam Abraham homered and doubled twice to drive in a game-high six runs batted in, leading the Akron RubberDucks (47-35) to an 8-2 victory Sunday afternoon over the Harrisburg Senators (32-48). The win split the series between the two teams.

Second Thoughts Game #80: Cleveland 5, Seattle 0
Saturday's west-coast game in Seattle saw Cleveland tie up the series with a 5-0 victory. Powered on offense by three doubles and one home run, the story of the night was Josh Tomlin, who threw an incredible no-walk, one-hit, eleven-strikeout complete game shutout. Fink, Captains rally in ninth to beat Dragons, 3-2
The Lake County Captains (7-2) scored a run in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the Dayton Dragons (2-7) by the final score of 3-2 Saturday evening. The win allowed the Captains to maintain their one-game lead over the Lansing Lugnuts for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

Mudcats rally to beat Dash in thriller, 11-9
The Carolina Mudcats used a late rally to down the Winston-Salem Dash, 11-9, on Saturday night. Down by two runs going into the eighth, the Mudcats used some timely hitting to level the game and ultimately take the lead.

Clyde dominates as Clippers cruise over Mud Hens
Tyler Cloyd collected his third win in a row Saturday night while taking the mound against the Toledo Mudhens. Clippers took the victory 6-1 on the Mudhens’ home turf, extending their record to 43-39.

Harper's 3 HR too much for Ducks in 10-4 route
The RubberDucks allowed a season-high 19 hits to the Senators, including three home runs by Bryce Harper that led Harrisburg to its second win over the RubberDucks this weekend, 10-4. Jordan Smith and Ollie Linton highlighted the RubberDucks night. The Akron outfielders were responsible for all four of the team’s runs and had five of the RubberDucks 12 hits.

Second Thoughts, Game #79: Cleveland 2, Seattle 3
The Indians fell to Seattle on Friday by a 3-2 margin. While Seattle was buoyed largely by its offense, the day was made unique by its pitchers, Seattle's Chris Young and Cleveland's Trevor Bauer, two pitchers who, despite being on entirely separate career trajectories, share very similar pitching philosophies. The IBI's John Grimm discusses the merits of their flyballing tendencies - and how overlooking directional pitching tendencies can result in an incomplete evaluation of accompanying defenses.
