Lake County Captains hold on to beat Lansing Lugnuts, 5-4
The Lake County captains held on for a 5-4 win against the Lansing Lugnuts after giving up a run in four straight innings. Lake County's offense was sparked by a three-RBI home run from Nellie Rodriguez and multi-hit games from Ivan Castillo and Eric Haase. Caleb Hamrick picked up the win while Trevor Frank got his eighth save of the season.

Lindor, RubberDucks pile on 9 runs, 12 hits in route of Richmond
The Akron RubberDucks and Richmond Flying Squirrels were tied at two through six innings, but Akron piled on seven runs between the seventh and eighth to take a 9-2 victory. The RubberDucks totaled 12 hits, led by three from blue-chip prospect Francisco Lindor. Will Roberts picked up his ninth win of the season after seven solid innings on the mound.

Carolina Mudcats top Lynchburg Hillcats in 32-hit game
The Carolina Mudcats gave up 17 hits, but still managed to take a 11-6 win against the Lynchburg Hillcats behind 15 hits of their own. Every pitcher in the game gave up at least tow hits, with the two starters combining to give up 18 hits total. Five different Akron batters had multi-hit games, while Alex Monslave hit a seventh-inning grand slam.

Columbus Clippers drop doubleheader to Indianapolis Indians
In the first game of a double header, the Columbus Clippers were no-hit by the Indianapolis Indians through five innings before losing, 1-0. Columbus starter Danny Salazar pitched a gem of his own, giving up just two hits in six innings while striking out nine, but took the loss. Andy Oliver got his 11th save of the season after Nick Kingham's shutdown outing. The Clippers again lost in the second game late Thursday night.

2014 MLB Draft: The Indians shadow draft
Since the last of the Indians top picks outfielder Mike Papi signed it is time for the IBI's Jeff Ellis to post his annual shadow draft piece. Every year Jeff waits for all of the signings in the top 10 rounds to be completed and then he goes back and does the draft how he would have done it knowing what we know now with the signing bonuses and month of play from players.

Most of Cleveland seemed to come to a standstill while awaiting LeBron James' announcement on Wednesday, an announcement we are all still waiting to bear witness to. But while there was mostly inaction regarding The Decision 2.0, the minor leagues provided plenty of action, including Erik Gonzalez showing more signs of life following a bit of an extended slump. Ellsbury, Yankees edge Indians in 14 innings, 5-4
Jacoby Ellsbury decided 14 innings was long enough. Tied at four with two outs, the Yankees center fielder went deep off Tribe reliever Vinnie Pestano for the game-winning homer Wednesday, as New York edged the Indians, 5-4. Storylines: Masahiro Tanaka placed on 15-day DL
The New York Yankees took a hit is pitching phenomenon Masahiro Tanaka was sent to the 15-day disable list. He had a 12-4 record with a 2.51 ERA before heading to the DL with an elbow injury. For the Indians, Zach McAllister makes his return to the majors. In other news and notes, the trading game is fully in play as the season winds on.

Mahoning Valley Scrappers crushed by Hudson Valley, 11-3
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers gave up 17 hits on their way to a 11-3 route at the hands of the Hudson Valley Renegades. Hudson Valley's Hunter Lockwood went five for five to lead the charge, while Bradley Zimmer and Taylor Murphy each had two hits for the Scrappers in the loss. Julian Merryweather was credited with the loss after giving up 10 hits and seven runs in 3.2 innings of work.

Akron RubberDucks to Richmond Flying Squirrels in 11 innings
After the Richmond Flying Squirrels forced extra innings with a run in the bottom of the eighth, the Akron RubberDucks pouched for three runs in the top of the 11th innings to take the 5-2 victory. Tony Wolters and Francisco Lindor each had two hits, while Ronny Rodriguez hit a home run to help lead the charge. Akron's Joseph Colon pitched six innings of one-run baseball in the no-decision.

Columbus Clippers shut down by Pawtucket Red Sox, lose 3-1
The Columbus Clippers attempted a furious rally in the bottom of the ninth, but could only get one run on the board on their way to a 3-1 loss agains the Pawtucket Red Sox. Jesus Aguilar hit an RBI double, but it was not quite enough as the comeback faltered. Toru Murata took the loss after a quality start, but Steven Wright stole the show for Pawtucket with eight two-hit, no-run innings.

Carolina Mudcats complete game with 7-run 8th, win second
After their game Tuesday was suspended, the Carolina Mudcats finished strong with a 12-4 win against Lynchburg, including a seven-run eighth inning. Carolina totaled 17 hits before getting ready for the nightcap against the Hillcats. The Mudcats took their originally scheduled game as well, beating the Hillcats 5-4 behind eight total hits.

Total team effort lead Indians to 5-3 win over Yankees
He is without question a star in the making. Just call him the city's new favorite No. 23. Looking to bounce back after a loss to New York in the series opener Monday, All-Star outfielder Michael Brantley led a total team effort by the Tribe Tuesday night.
