Akron RubberDucks make use of long ball to top Reading, 4-3
The Akron RubberDucks managed just five hits compared to 11 for the Reading Fightin Phils, but still took the win, 4-3, Wednesday. Akron got the hits that counted as Jake Lowery, Anthony Gallas and Francisco Lindor each hit solo home runs. Joseph Colon picked up the win for the RubberDucks for a solid eight innings of work and Tyler Sturdevant got the save.

Mudcats Notebook: Karsay talks about first half pitching
The Carolina Mudcats closed out the first half of the season on a sour note, going only 1-3 on the week, with one game being canceled by rain. Second Thoughts Game #72: Angels 9, Indians 3
The Cleveland Indians lost to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Tuesday night by a score of 9-3. The game was close until a big fifth inning was capped by a three-run homer to right field by Mike Trout. Josh Tomlin didn’t quite have the required command to effectively hold the talented Angels’ lineup in check. The IBI's Charlie Adams provides his second thoughts on the game and questions the gameplan on how to pitch to Trout.

2014 MLB Draft: June 18th signing update
The Indians nailed down two more high draft picks on Tuesday getting them to put pen to paper and officially releasing their signings. Also, news came out later in the day that another top pick had agreed to terms and for a well over slot bonus. The IBI's Tony Lastoria provides the details on the signings, where exactly the Indians are with their bonus pool, how much money is left over (if any) and provides a comprehensive listing of all 42 picks with who has signed, is not signing, is on the fence, is a summer draft and follow and more.

Trout, Angels route Cleveland, 9-3
All good things must come to an end. For the Indians and their 10 game winning streak at Progressive Field, things came to a screeching halt Tuesday night. Exploding for nine runs on 15 hits, the L.A. Angels made quick work of the Tribe, sending them to a 9-3 loss to even up the four-game series. Mahoning Valley Scrappers lose to Auburn Doubledays, 2-1
After managing just one hit in the game, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers lost, 2-1, to the Auburn Doubledays. The Scrappers held on to a tie game until the eighth inning when Auburn broke through for the winning run. Dominic DeMasi was tagged with the loss after Anthony Vizcaya gave up just one run in four innings of work.

RubberDucks explode on offense, win first game of road trip 15-10.
The RubberDucks (41-30) started their road trip off with a bang on Tuesday night with 15-8 win over the Fightin Phils (33-34). The team combined for nine extra-base hits, including two doubles and four RBI from recently featured outfielder Anthony Gallas and a 2-run triple from Joey Wendle.

Columbus Clippers cruise to 6-2 victory against Buffalo Bisons
After taking a 3-0 lead in the third inning, the Columbus Clippers never looked back on their way to a 6-2 victory against the Buffalo Bisons. Even though Buffalo had one more hit in the game, the Clippers made their hits count when it mattered on their way to victory. Kyle Davies, Scott Barnes and Vinnie Pestano got the win, hold and save, respectively, for Columbus.

Second Thoughts Game #71: Angels 3, Indians 4
The Indians started off the homestand right, with a 4-3 victory over Jered Weaver and the Angels. A game in which three of Cleveland home runs reached the plate via the long ball, it might be surprising that the highlight of Cleveland's day was its pitching. 2014 MLB Draft: June 17th signing update
The Indians have a lot of high profile draft picks in town this week to visit Progressive Field and be around the big league team and of course to finalize their contracts. One such high profile player officially came off the board on Monday as Justus Sheffield signed his deal with the Indians, and a few more should become official today or tomorrow.
