Masterson struggles continue, Yankees edge Indians, 5-3
Nine innings. The amount of innings in a baseball game. The same amount of innings Justin Masterson has also pitched in his last three starts. It's safe to say the All-Star break can't come soon enough for the one-time Tribe ace. New York invaded Progressive Field for the first this season Monday, handing the Indians a 5-3 loss in the series opener of a four-game series. Storylines: Potential injury to Aiken holding up deal
After Monday's disastrous outing, many of us are clamoring for Justin Masterson to hit the disabled list. Will we get our wish? Columbus Clippers can't find scoring touch in 4-1 loss to Pawtucket
After giving up 11 hits and four one-run innings, the Columbus Clippers lost, 4-1, to the Pawtucket Red Sox Monday. The Clippers totaled eight hits behind a 2 of 4 outing from Elliot Johnson and six one-hit nights, but only managed one run on the night. Kyle Davies took the loss, but Tyler Sturdevant still managed to pitch a scoreless ninth while fanning two.

The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have acquired outfielder Chris Dickerson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named or cash and selected his contract from the Triple-A Columbus Clippers roster.

Mahoning Valley Scrappers toppled by Williamsport, 8-1
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers gave up 15 hits in an 8-1 loss to the Williamsport Crosscutters. The Crosscutters scored all eight of their runs before Mahoning Valley got on the board in the seventh inning. Juan Santana moved his record to 0-4 this season after being credited with the loss.

Rally falls short for Carolina Mudcats in 5-4 loss to Lynchburg
The Carolina Mudcats rallied with two runs in the eighth, but ended up losing to the Lynchburg Hillcats after going down 4-2 in the first three innings. Shawn Morimando took the loss, moving his record to 8-3 on the season. James Roberts picked up two hits and scored a run in the losing effort.

Akron RubberDucks rally to beat Richmond Flying Squirrels, 3-1
The Akron RubberDucks took a 3-1 win against the Richmond Flying Squirrels after scoring three unanswered runs. Jake Lowery sparked the offense by going two for two with a triple and two runs scored. Cody Anderson picked up the win after tossing five innings of one-run baseball.

The Clippers started the week in second place, but winning all five home games against Louisville, Toledo and Pawtucket has propelled them into a first place tie with Indianapolis, which will make the next couple of weeks very interesting for Clippers fans. As the Indians aimed to win a key divisional series against the Royals, All-Star candidates Michael Brantley and Corey Kluber each made their final push to represent the Tribe in the Midsumer Classic. Kluber pitched eight and a third innings as he earned his eighth win of the season while Brantley went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps the victory.

Velazquez’s inside-the-park HR sparks Silver Hawk win
Andrew Velazquez hit an inside the park homerun to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning and South Bend took that momentum and turned it into a 8-7 win over the Captains. The homer for Velazquez was his sixth on the season and the Silver Hawks swept the Captains in the three game set. The Silver Hawks won the game on a bases loaded walk-off walk.

Ciriaco, Clippers outlast Red Sox, 5-4
Losing a lead is never an easy pill to swallow, but when a team comes back from doing so they show signs of real togetherness. That good feeling was abound in Huntington Park on Sunday evening as the Columbus Clippers (49-41) rode a four-run fifth inning to a 5-4 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox (46-46).

Michael Brantley voted to All-Star Game; Kluber up for Final Vote
Major League Baseball announced rosters for the 85th annual All-Star Game late Sunday night. For the Indians, outfielder Michael Brantley was voted in and Tribe starter Corey Kluber is up for the American League Final Vote. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz explains more.

One bad inning doomed the Carolina Mudcats Sunday as they were routed by the Salem Red Sox 8-2. Salem rallied for six runs in the third to erase an early deficit and cruise to victory in the series rubber match.

The RubberDucks avoided the sweep and snapped a four-game skid with a 7-2 win over the Bowie Baysox Sunday afternoon. Ollie Linton led Akron’s offensive charge with a double, triple and two RBI.

Two-run ninth propels Batavia to sweep of Scrappers
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers came into Sunday afternoon’s game looking to avoid a three game sweep at the hands of the Batavia Muckdogs. Despite scoring three runs on five hits, the Scrappers surrendered a two-out two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to fall 5-3, being swept at home by Batavia for the second time this season.
