Akron RubberDucks Open Series at Trenton with 5-2 Loss
Four Trenton pitchers combined on a three-hitter against the Akron RubberDucks Monday night, as the Thunder claimed a 5-2 victory in the opening game of a four-game series at Arm and Hammer Park. Lefty Jeremy Bleich (2-2), whom the RubberDucks beat last Wednesday at Canal Park, earned the win, tossing 5 1/3 innings, and allowing just a pair of singles and two unearned runs. Bleich walked two and struck out four. He retired the side in order three times.

Clippers top Mud Hens behind two Jose Ramirez home runs
Jose Ramirez blasted two home runs as the Columbus Clippers beat the Toledo Mud Hens 6-4 Monday night. While Columbus still sits at the bottom of the division, the win snapped a three-game losing streak. Overall the Clippers are off to a slow start, but continued offensive outings like that of Ramirez should improve their fortunes.

Lake County Captains lose tight one to Lansing Lugnuts, 7-6
After going up early, the Lake County Captains lost to the Lansing Lugnuts Monday, 7-6. A run in the top of the first inning led to a short-lived advantage, but Lansing tied it up in the bottom half. Erac Haase homered and scored three runs, but it wasn't enough for the Captains to come out on top.

Carlina Mudcats split doubleheader with Frederick Keys
After dropping the first game 4-3, the Carolina Mudcats took the second of a doubleheader from the Frederick Keys, 2-1. A wild sixth inning, including a hotly contested balk call, led to the win for Carolina. Mudcats' shortstop Erik Gonzalez had a strong day and extended his hitting streak to 14 games.

Giambi activated, Wood optioned to Columbus
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have activated designated hitter Jason Giambi from the 15-day disabled list. To make room on the 25-man roster they have optioned right-handed pitcher Blake Wood to Triple-A Columbus.

Second Thoughts Game #18: Blue Jays 4, Indians 6
The Indians have been in a kind of funk where they needed a game where almost everything clicked to help them relax and breathe easier. On Sunday, the pitching still had some issues, but the offense worked pitch counts, drew walks, got on base and, most importantly, didn't try to do too much with runners in scoring position. Morimando strong in win over Frederick
Shawn Morimando looked stout over six innings as the Carolina Mudcats beat the Frederick Keys 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at Five County Stadium. Alex Monsalve drove in a season-high three runs and the Mudcats (9-7) snapped the Keys’ winning streak at four games.

Murphy lifts Tribe over Blue Jays on Easter, 6-4
Like the day itself, Sunday could be the day that resurrected the Indians season. Trailing the Blue Jays 4-2 in the sixth, David Murphy lifted the Tribe past Toronto with a bases clearing three-run double, as the team held on win, 6-4. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz recaps the action from the ballpark.
