Columbus Clippers shut down by Pawtucket Red Sox, lose 3-1
The Columbus Clippers attempted a furious rally in the bottom of the ninth, but could only get one run on the board on their way to a 3-1 loss agains the Pawtucket Red Sox. Jesus Aguilar hit an RBI double, but it was not quite enough as the comeback faltered. Toru Murata took the loss after a quality start, but Steven Wright stole the show for Pawtucket with eight two-hit, no-run innings.

Carolina Mudcats complete game with 7-run 8th, win second
After their game Tuesday was suspended, the Carolina Mudcats finished strong with a 12-4 win against Lynchburg, including a seven-run eighth inning. Carolina totaled 17 hits before getting ready for the nightcap against the Hillcats. The Mudcats took their originally scheduled game as well, beating the Hillcats 5-4 behind eight total hits.

Total team effort lead Indians to 5-3 win over Yankees
He is without question a star in the making. Just call him the city's new favorite No. 23. Looking to bounce back after a loss to New York in the series opener Monday, All-Star outfielder Michael Brantley led a total team effort by the Tribe Tuesday night. The Cleveland Indians today announced they have placed right-handed pitcher Justin Masterson on the 15-day disabled list with right knee inflammation. They have added left-handed pitcher Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus to take his spot on the roster.

Second Thoughts Game #88: Yankees 5, Indians 3
It was another short night for Justin Masterson as he lasted just two-plus innings and was his fourth start in five in which he’s failed to go more than four innings. Lake County Captains lose 12-4 to Lansing after giving up 6 in the 7th
The Lansing Lugnuts tallied 13 hits on their way to a 12-4 win against the Lake County Captains Tuesday night. Nellie Rodriguez and Claudio Bautista each tallied two hits for Lake County, but the team simply couldn't score enough runs to hold on. Mitch Brown took the loss for the Captains after giving up nine runs in 6.1 innings.

Mahoning Valley Scrappers lose to the Williamsport, 8-3
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers fell to the Williamsport Crosscutters 8-3 after giving up five runs in the final two innings. Mahoning Valley totaled just four hits in the game, including a home run by Leo Castillo. Kieran Lovegrove took the loss, even though Edward Estrella gave up five earned runs in just 1.2 innings of relief.

Akron RubberDucks lose to Richmond Flying Squirrels, 9-4
Akron RubberDucks were outhit 10-5 on their way to losing to the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 9-4, Tuesday. Francisco Lindor finished just 1 for 5 in the leadoff spot while knocking in a run with his double. Duke von Schamann fell below .500 on the season after taking the loss, but Adam Miller pitched a strong inning of scoreless baseball in relief.

Columbus Clippers give up 3 in extras, lose to Pawtucket, 5-3
The Columbus Clippers scored a run in the bottom of the 10th, but still lost, 5-3, after giving up three runs in the top of the first frame of extra innings to the Pawtucket Red Sox. Bryan Price took the loss after Tyler Cloyd pitched 6.1 solid innings to start the game off for Columbus. Carlos Moncrief led the offense with three hits and a 10th-inning home run.

Masterson struggles continue, Yankees edge Indians, 5-3
Nine innings. The amount of innings in a baseball game. The same amount of innings Justin Masterson has also pitched in his last three starts. It's safe to say the All-Star break can't come soon enough for the one-time Tribe ace. New York invaded Progressive Field for the first this season Monday, handing the Indians a 5-3 loss in the series opener of a four-game series. Columbus Clippers can't find scoring touch in 4-1 loss to Pawtucket
After giving up 11 hits and four one-run innings, the Columbus Clippers lost, 4-1, to the Pawtucket Red Sox Monday. The Clippers totaled eight hits behind a 2 of 4 outing from Elliot Johnson and six one-hit nights, but only managed one run on the night. Kyle Davies took the loss, but Tyler Sturdevant still managed to pitch a scoreless ninth while fanning two.

The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have acquired outfielder Chris Dickerson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named or cash and selected his contract from the Triple-A Columbus Clippers roster.
