In 2013, the Cleveland Indians did the unthinkable: they won 92 games a season after they had only won 68 games, and they made the playoffs. While Kenny Lofton is arguing THAT point, the one-game foray into the postseason realm galvanized the fanbase, and reminded many of what things could be like with a winning baseball team. On paper, the Indians didn't add much to the roster, but will their be enough internal improvement for this team to take it to the next step? Join Jim Pete for your chance and picking the Indians' future with today Power Poll-palooza!!!

All good things must come to an end. After a great spring, the Indians dropped their final Cactus League game Saturday to San Diego, 9-8. Tribe outfielder Matt Carson belted a pair of homers, but the offense could not overcome a shaky outing by Danny Salazar. The right-handed phenom went just four innings allowing five runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out five. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz shares his thoughts and recaps the action.

Cleveland agreed with a six-year, $23 million contract extension with catcher Yan Gomes according to Ken Rosenthal (pending a physical). The extension also includes two club options that would keep Gomes under team control through 2021 if exercised.

It couldn't have been a better spring year in the City of Goodyear. The Indians offense wasted little time in their final ballgame in Arizona Thursday afternoon, jumping out to an early lead. That would be all the run support Tribe starter Corey Kluber would need, as the right-hander shutout the Diamondbacks with six innings of scoreless baseball surrendering just three hits. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action.

The Indians made the announcement on Wednesday that Carlos Carrasco will open the season as the club's fifth starter. The Indians have had their enigma's on the mound over the past few years with Fausto Carmona and Ubaldo Jimenez, and Carrasco is yet another one to add to that mix. Can he finally put it all together and is there anything from his 2013 performance which points to him being in line for a solid 2014 campaign? The IBI's John Grimm breaks it all down....

The Indians starting pitching staff will be trying to fill two significant holes left by the defections of Scott Kazmir and Ubaldo Jimenez. While Danny Salazar fills one of those spots, and some combination of Carlos Carrasco and Josh Tomlin will try to fill the other, it’s Corey Kluber who will slot behind Justin Masterson and be tasked with helping him carry the rotation. It’s an amazing rise Kluber has undergone to get to this point, and the IBI's Michael Goodman talks about his key role for the team this season.
