After taking a line drive off his elbow in a start last night for Columbus, Carlos Carrasco appears to have established a rather morbid method for evading the suspensions Major League Baseball tries to impose upon him. At press time, the extent of Carrasco’s latest injury remained unknown, but if initial reports are any indication, another prolonged stint on the disabled list could be in the cards. Triple-A Columbus right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco was struck on his right elbow by a line drive off the bat of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre second baseman Corban Joseph and was removed from the game in the fifth inning of action on Thursday night. He has been taken to an area hospital for further evaluation, likely to get x-rays on his arm/elbow.

Yeah, it's nearly that bad, as Corey Kluber enters the fray for the Indians as the eighth starter to pitch for the Tribe in 2013. It's April 24th. Asdrubal Cabrera singled home two runs in the top of the eighth inning off Chicago reliever Matt Thornton as the Cleveland Indians beat the White Sox 3-2 in the opener of a three-game series. The win was the Indians third-straight, and kept the Indians ahead of the White Sox in the standings. Justin Masterson went seven innings, and rebounded from his only loss of the season to win his league-leading fourth game of the season.

Cleveland third baseman Mark Reynolds blasted his seventh home run of the season, one of four Tribe shots on the day, as the Indians beat the Houston Astros 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Minute Maid Park. Reynolds hit a 3-2 pitch by former Indians reliever Hector Ambriz off the arches in left field to break a 4-4 tie.

The Indians have placed right-hander Brett Myers on the 15-day disabled list with a right arm injury and have called up right-hander Fernando Nieve from Triple-A Columbus. Corey Kluber has also been inserted into the rotation.
