Second Thoughts Game #68: Indians 2, Nationals 0
Now that’s how you pitch! Indians starter Corey Kluber pitched the best game of his life on Sunday as the Tribe shutout Washington, 2-0 to take the three-game series. Pitching out of a bases loaded no out jam in the seventh inning and another two innings with runners on first and third and nobody out, Kluber earned every bit of that victory. The IBI's Jim Berdysz gives his second thoughts on the game...

Second Thoughts Game #67: Nationals 7, Indians 6
For the Indians, Saturday was a tale of the bad, the good, and the ugly. Cleveland was left stunned on Saturday night as the Washington Nationals scored twice in the final two innings to secure a 7-6 victory over the Tribe. This came after the Indians offense battled their way back from a 5-0 deficit to be up 6-5 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts...

Communication error in ninth proves costly in 7-6 loss
After the Cleveland offense mounted a five-run comeback against Washington ace Jordan Zimmermann, the Tribe bullpen allowed lead-changing solo homers in the eighth and ninth as the Nationals beat the Indians 7-6. The Indians were unable to get lockdown performances from their bullpen mates, and on Sunday they will focus on starting a new streak.

Trend Spotting: Black holes and expectations at third base
Basking in the Indians third consecutive win, a quick rebound from an absolutely horrendous stretch, the Indians peak and valley tendencies have shown their ugly head. And as with many streaks, when it rained it poured, something which we can actually see manifested statistically in BABIP. The IBI's Michael Hattery takes a look at the statistical trends at third base with Mark Reynolds and wonders when Lonnie Chisenhall will be called up.

Second Thoughts Game #66: Nationals 1, Indians 2
Fictional manager Lou Brown once had a saying about winning streaks. Well, here we are. The Indians are coming off their third win in a row and are now on that elusive winning streak after squeaking past Gio Gonzalez and the Nationals 2-1 in walk-off fashion on Friday night as the red-hot Jason Kipnis drove in Drew Stubbs on a fielder’s choice RBI groundout in the bottom of the ninth. The IBI's Jake Dungan shares his second thoughts on a thrilling Tribe victory...

With the win, the Indians have now won three games in a row after losing eight in a row, and Tribe pitching has allowed two runs or fewer in all three games.

Orbiting Cleveland: The pleasant surprise of Corey Kluber

However, the most pleasant surprise has arguably been the development of right-hander Corey Kluber. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he takes an in-depth look at Kluber in the latest edition the weekly IBI staple, Orbiting Cleveland.

Second Thoughts: The sweet life of Zach and Corey
Three years ago the Indians parted ways with several veterans in a July fire sale. Austin Kearns was dealt for Zach McAllister and Jake Westbrook brought in Corey Kluber. Now, three years later, those two moves consummated on back to back days in July of 2010 look like they could net the Indians two key pieces to the rotation for the next several years.

Second Thoughts Game #65: Indians 5, Rangers 2
A series win! That’s something the Indians haven’t been able to claim in a three game series since the May 17-20 sweep of the Seattle Mariners. Ubaldo Jimenez made it interesting at times and there were still some issues at the plate, but a win is a win. Ubaldo made it through alright, the bullpen held it down, and the offense scored just enough. Join Michael Goodman as he gives his Second Thoughts on Wednesday's game.
