Tribe Happenings: Carrasco should give rotation a boost
In his weekly Indians notebook, Tony provides an update on the return of Carlos Carrasco, how he has looked, and what the plan may be for him next year. He also chimes in with his thoughts on the recent callups from the minors and makes sense of the players that were called up and those that were not, he talks about Chris Perez being out of line, he looks at the underwhelming season of Casey Kotchman, and more.

Second Thoughts: Game #139 Twins 3, Indians 0
The Indians offense could not get anything rolling on Saturday as the Tribe was held in check by Minnesota and Twins starter Cole De Vires, getting shutout 3-0. The loss puts Cleveland at a season low 21 games below the .500 mark. Cleveland starter Zach McAllister struggled for his third straight outing, going just three innings giving up two earned runs on three hits.

Corner of Carnegie & Ontario: Owners,GMs & fans,Oh my!
With the season thankfully winding down, Chris Perez slammed both the owners and the GM for their lack of movement when the team really needed it. In doing so, he compared the Indians situation to the Tigers. Are they really similar, and should they really be compared? Jim Pete takes a quick look at both Perez, Detroit and Cleveland, and where the failings really are...after the jump...

Second Thoughts: Game #138 Indians 7, Twins 6
It may have very well been the battle for last place, but there was certainly a nail biter of a finish as the Indians edged out their Central Division rival Twins Friday night, 7-6. The Tribe would collect a dozen hits in the ballgame and already pick up their fourth win in September.

A Dose of Sunshine: Part one
While many people view the Indians situation at the moment as a complete train wreck, Adam McGavin tries to look past the darkness and find some light to shine on a bleak situation. In his first part of a two-part article, he says that any positive vibe should start with a strong group of players up the middle of the diamond and some key trade pieces that could bring in a few players that could help now and in the future.

A four-week talent show
With their record at 58-79, the Indians have become difficult to watch for many fans. With only 25 games left to play, interest in the Tribe seems to be waning each day. However, IPI's Steve Orbanek suggests that fans should look at these final 25 games in a different light to find some possible enjoyment.

Second Thoughts: Game #137 Indians 1, Tigers 7
The Indians fell short in their quest to sweep the Tigers as they were on the short end of a 7-1 score last night. Ubaldo Jimenez pitched well well for seven innings before falling apart in the eighth inning, and the offense continued its struggle to score runs. Charlie Adams shares his second thoughts on the game.

Second Thoughts: Game #136: Indians 3, Tigers 2
Things did not look good for the Indians Tuesday night. It had been nearly a month since the Tribe has last won back-to-back games and nearly three months since the team won back-to-back games on the road. Plus, after losing 29 of their last 25 games, who could favor the Indians anyhow? Yet, somehow the Indians won and improved their record to 9-5 against the Tigers this season. Steve Orbanek offers some second thoughts on what went wrong and right for the Tribe in this one.

Second Thoughts: Game #135 Indians 3, Tigers 2
The Indians may be scuffling since the end of July, but for whatever reason, they continue to play the Tigers tough this season and won another matchup against them yesterday 3-2. Corey Kluber put forth his most consistent outing of the season for the Indians, the bullpen did its job late, and Asdrubal Cabrera had two quality run scoring plate appearances. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on the game.

Second Thoughts: Game #134 - Rangers 8, Indians 3
After the most futile month in team history, the calendar finally read "September." The Indians opened it with a solid victory on Saturday, but Sunday looked more like August again. Seven extra-base hits paced the Rangers, and the Tribe was again unable to keep up.

Tribe Happenings: Back-and-Forth-and-Back Again
With Tony visiting the nation's capital, getting President Barack Obama's thoughts on the Indians' organzation, Jim Pete is dutifully taking the reigns of Tribe Happenings for the week with a beautifully cheery view of the Indians' system in 2012 and beyond. Okay, while sarcasm is clearly at play, hey, at least it's sunny somewhere, right?

Second Thoughts: Game #133 Indians 4, Rangers 3
One flip of the calendar, and the Indians have already picked up their first victory in the month of September, defeating the Rangers on Saturday night 4-3. The victory snapped a six-game losing streak and was the first time since August 11 that Cleveland won a ballgame where Justin Masterson was not the starting pitcher.

Corner of Carnegie and Ontario: "Summertime Blues..."
With the dawn of a new month, the Cleveland Indians can put to bed a historically bad August that put the 2012 Cleveland Indians in the same conversations as some of the worst teams in the history of the franchise. For those that know THAT history, knows just how BAD that is. Take a stroll over the the Corner of Carnegie, and let's all say goodbye to August together....after the jump...

Second Thoughts: Game #132 Rangers 5, Indians 3
The Tribe's woes continue as the team dropped its sixth straight Friday. Even worse, the loss tied the franchise mark for the worst month in team history. On the positive side of things, a new month is upon us, but just in case any of us forgot about just how bad August was, IPI's Jim Berdysz goes over Friday's conclusion to the month, a 5-3 loss to Texas.

A red-hot debate: A comparison of Indians and Reds hitters
There's a lot of similarities between the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. Both are in-state rivals, and both teams use a similar economic model. Yet, despite the similarities, both teams have had very difficult results this season as the Indians have experienced an immense downward spiral while the Reds sit atop the standings as one of baseball's elite. In his latest, Jeff Ellis provides an in-depth look at both teams, using previous Baseball America rankings, to show just how much better the Reds really are.
