The Cleveland Indians built off their already impressive spring start with two more strong performances on Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, the Tribe relied on its offense, but it was Tribe pitchers who led the charge in Sunday's contests. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he recaps both contests and touches on the Indians perfect 4-0 start.
The Indians outfield may not be as good as the infield overall, but the combination of the additions of the crazy hot stove season with the subtraction of the conglomerate of bad that was in left field last year could make this unit the most important on the team. The unit is defensively sound, and with Nick Swisher and Ryan Raburn in the wings, extremely versatile. Here's a look at the Indians' outfield, as compared to the rest of the A.L. Central.
Tony's on his way back from Hawaii, so he had to callup a spot starter this week for the Happenings. Jim Piascik got the call, and in this week's Tribe Happenings, he looks at how Cleveland stacks up to the class of the American League, touches on some of the finer points of the first game action of the spring, reasons out how he feels about Baseball America's Top 100 rankings, and much more.
The Indians continued their offensive onslaught on their Ohio and Goodyear partnership by piling 13 more runs onto the Reds. It was the second consecutive game in which they scored 10-plus runs, and at the center of that was Ryan Raburn, who blasted another two home runs in his quest to make the Indians 25-man roster. Join Jake Dungan as he wraps up game #2 of spring training.
The Cleveland Indians roster made a significant jump in talent in 2013 thanks to a massive amount of movement by the front office. Terry Francona has been given a solid roster to work with heading into the new season. How good is it? Today's Corner of Carnegie and Ontario will look at the A.L. Central, focusing on the infield, as it compares to the Cleveland Indians
BASEBALL IS BACK!!! INDIANS WIN!!! Can it get better than this? Actually it can. This is, after all, only the preseason. The IBI's Arthur Kinney breaks down the good, the bad, and the ugly from yesterday's opener in Goodyear and how much, if anything, we can actually read into any of it...
After a stellar 2011 campaign, Justin Masterson significantly regressed last season and was a key reason the Indians were unable to compete. Masterson will once again be looked at as a key component of the team's rotation this season, but what can fans expect? Join the IBI's Michael Hattery as he provides an outlook for Masterson's future in the first edition of his new series titled Swing Starters.
Finally! It's here! Baseball is back! Well, sort of. Cactus League action kicks off today as the Cleveland Indians will be in action at 3:05 p.m. against the Cincinnati Reds in Goodyear, Arizona. The IBI's Steve Orbanek provides all the details of today's game and also recaps the week that was for Indians players at the Goodyear Complex in this week's edition of the Spring Training Notebook.
With Spring Training underway in Goodyear, Arizona, Jim Piascik and Steve Orbanek continue trying to keep things fresh and not bland here at IBI, previewing the 2013 Cleveland Indians in an unconventional way. They've been sending e-mails back and forth to figure out where they stand on the team heading into Spring Training, with today's focus on the bullpen.
The Cleveland Indians made a handful of moves this offseason, but by no means does that make the Tribe the favorite in the AL Central. The Detroit Tigers are coming off a World Series appearance, and both the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox could be contenders in the division. So, how does the Tribe stack up when compared to the competition? Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he ponders how the Tribe compares to its divisional rivals.

Kazmir joins the Indians after an epic rise and equally epic fall as an ace in the Major Leagues. With the Tribe's fifth starter spot up for grabs, does Kazmir have a legitimate shot to join the team's rotation? Join Steve as he ponders this thought and looks back at the up-and-down road that has been Kazmir's career.

With the signing of Bourn, the Tribe has now committed $117 million to free agents this offseason. The team's ownership has finally gone out and made a big commitment in spending this offseason, and the IBI's Jake Dungan believes it's now time for Indians fans to keep their part of the bargain and start attending games.
