Breaking down the Bourn signing and more
The Indians made another big splash this offseason on Monday when they agreed to terms on a deal with free agent outfielder Michael Bourn. The IBI's Tony Lastoria breaks down the deal and takes a look at how Bourn will help the team, how the Indians will align themselves defensively, how their draft plans will be affected, what may be coming next, and lots more.

How much better are the Indians after Bourn deal?
The Indians sent shockwaves through the baseball world last evening when it was announced that the team had come to terms with free agent outfielder Michael Bourn. On paper, it seems as if the Tribe is definitely a much improved team, and some fans are even labeling the Indians as a potential playoff team. But just how much have the Indians improved following the Bourn signing and the other moves this offseason? The IBI's Steve Orbanek ponders after the jump.

The Bourn Identity - Going the extra mile
The Indians shocked the local and national baseball world last night when news came down the pipe that they had reached agreement on a four-year $48 million deal with free agent Michael Bourn. For days and weeks the Indians gave no indication they were in on him and that their payroll was maxed out, and they made a key strike at the start of spring training which improves the club in a lot of ways. The IBI's Jake Dungan recaps the signing and provides some thoughts on what the deal means.

Matsuzaka signs minor league deal with Indians
The Indians have reportedly agreed to terms on a minor league deal with free agent right-handed pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. The deal has not yet been made official as he still has to take and pass his physical, but if he makes the team and is added to the roster he will make $1.5 million and has incentives in his deal which could push it up to $4 million.

What's new in 2013: The bullpen
Well now we get to the fun stuff. That’s right, today we will discuss the “The Bullpen Mafia” as Clevelanders have so affectionately branded the Indians relief corps. Outside of maybe Brian Wilson and Sergio Romo in San Francisco, the Tribe probably has the most unique, fun-loving bunch of characters to ever occupy a major league bullpen. The IBI's Jake Dungan continues his four-part series with a comparison between the 2012 opening day bullpen and this season's projected opening day bullpen.

Aviles, Indians agree to multi-year deal, Hill signed
On Thursday the Cleveland Indians announced that they have signed infielder Mike Aviles to a two-year $6 million contract that includes a club option for the 2015 season. His signing brings all arbitration eligible players under contract for the 2013 season, and keeps the Indians streak intact of not going to arbitration since 1991 (Swindell, Browne). They also announced the signing of lefty Rich Hill to a minor league contract.

Might the #4 and potential #5 starters prove to be more important than the rest? Join Jim Pete as he wraps up the hot stove Corner of Carnegie and Ontario with some rotation talk, and a look at Bourn and Lohse...
