Make it seven. The Indians fell to their division rival the Detroit Tigers on Sunday 4-1, and the Motor City Kitties completed the three game sweep of the Tribe. Making his Major League debut, Tigers left-hander Jose Alvarez limited Cleveland to just one run over six innings of work for his first big league victory. The Cleveland Indians had four affiliates playing on Sunday afternoon. One of those affiliates had 17 hits. The other three affiliates combined only had 15 hits total. The Indians have now lost 7 games in a row, their longest losing streak of the season. They trail the Tigers by five and a half games in the American League Central and are two games below .500.

The Cleveland Indians placed right-hander Zach McAllister on the 15-day DL with a right middle finger sprain and recalled right-hander Carlos Carrasco from Triple-A Columbus Saturday. McAllister's injury was first reported earlier in the week and MLB.com's Jordan Bastian tweets that this is not the same situation as when Adam Miller and Alex White saw their careers derailed. Calling up Carrasco now and starting him today will allow him to pitch while appealing his suspension for throwing at New York Yankees third baseman Kevin Youkilis in his first and only major league start in 2013 on April 9.
