Around the Farm: April 7, 2013
It's good to be back in the saddle here at ATF, as we take a look at Sunday's performances from accross the system. The Akron Aeros got a massive boost offensively by the top of their order, who absolutely hit the cover off the ball. The Mudcats swept the Dash in High A action and Joey Wendle brought out his whipping stick to help carry his team. Join Jim Pete as he takes you around the Indians organization.

Indians slam Rays 13-0 to avoid sweep
The Cleveland Indians faced off against the Tampa Bay Rays looking at the potential of not only being swept in their second series of the year, but had yet to score a run against the dominant Rays pitching. Enter Justin Masterson, who proved to be a stopper as the Indians avoided the sweep by returning the shut-out favor to the Rays in dominating fashion, winning 13-0.

In this week's Tribe Happenings, Tony reviews the week that was for the Indians starting five in the rotation and wonders if we learned anything from each starter getting one start and if there are any encouraging signs or some areas of concern. He also touches on how the Indians will handle getting Kazmir back into the rotation, controlling and developing Bauer, surgery for Alex White, and much more!

Second Thoughts Game #5: Rays 6, Indians 0
The Indians lost a rough one to the Rays on Saturday night by a score of 6-0. They were shut out for the second straight game, Trevor Bauer really struggled with his control, and Lou Marson took a shot at home plate that he is still probably recovering from this morning. The IBI's Jim Berdysz chimes in with his "Second Thoughts" on last night's ugly loss.

Indians fall 6-0 in Trevor Bauer's debut
Right-hander Trevor Bauer made his Indians debut on Saturday though is performance was less than spectacular as he walked seven batters across five innings of work. To make matters worse, the Indians' offense struggled to consistently get men on base, and the Tribe lost its third straight game, 6-0, to the Tampa Bay Rays. Join the IBI's Nathan Kemp as he recaps all of the action from Saturday's contest.

Second Thoughts: Game #4:Rays 4, Indians 0
The heavily-advertised Indians offense faltered a bit on Friday as no Indians were able to muster much offense other than Michael Bourn. Right-hander Zach McAllister made his season debut and allowed two earned runs across six innings of work, yet the Indians count never mount enough offense to challenge the Rays. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he looks back at the game and offers his Second Thoughts.

Indians shut down by Moore, suffer 4-0 loss to Rays
When going on a road trip, it’s easy to leave some necessary belongings behind. For the Indians, it looked like the team left their hitting shoes behind the Canadian border in Toronto, as Tampa Bay shutout the Tribe on Friday night, 4-0. The IBI's Jim Berdysz recaps a frustrating loss for the Indians.

Orbiting Cleveland: A forecast for Ubaldo Jimenez
There is perhaps no Cleveland Indians player that receives more criticism than Ubaldo Jimenez. The right-hander has been a colossal disappointment since coming over in July 2011 from the Rockies, yet he put together a solid start on Wednesday and was a key reason behind the Indians' 3-2 win. So, was Wednesday's start just smoke and mirrors, or could Jimenez actually be poised to rebound? The IBI's Steve Orbanek ponders in this week's edition of Orbiting Cleveland.

Second Thoughts Game #3: Blue Jays 10, Indians 8
Brett Myers didn't make himself any friends amongst fans last night, surrendering three home runs and repeatedly giving the Blue Jays back the lead. The offense tried valiantly Thursday night, but it just couldn't catch up to the surging Blue Jays. IBI's Andrew Clayman gives his Second Thoughts on Thursday's loss, remarking on Myers' outing, a suddenly comfortable Carlos Santana, and more.

Second Thoughts Game #2: Indians 3, Blue Jays 2
Two games down, two W's in the win column. Ubaldo Jimenez was on last night, pitching deep enough into the game to turn things over to the bullpen. Chris Perez may have blown that lead Ubaldo gave him, but Mighty Mark Reynolds came in to save the day. Join IBI's Michael Goodman as he gives his Second Thoughts on Wednesday's 3-2 extra innings victory.

Reynolds' Late Heroics Lead Indians to 3-2 Win
Mark Reynolds hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the 11th inning off of Toronto reliever Sergio Santos to give Cleveland a 3-2 victory at the Rogers Centre. The home run bailed out closer Chris Perez, who blew his first save of the season after allowing a home run to Jose Bautista in the ninth inning. Join IBI's Nathan Kemp as he recaps the action in Wednesday night's series-clinching win.

Swing Starters: Ubaldo Jimenez, is there anything there?
When the Indians, first acquired Ubaldo Jimenez, the IBI's Michael Hattery was a gung ho believer in his abilities at the top of the rotation and thought that his struggles early in 2011 where just sample size issues, nothing to be concerned about. But what he has witnessed so far with Jimenez has been a complete unraveling of talent as a major-league starter. Michael takes a deeper look into Jimenez to see if there is any hope for him this season.
