Second Thoughts Game #49: Red Sox 6, Indians 5
For eight innings, the Indians looked as though they could escape Boston with a series split. Then, the top of the ninth inning came along as did closer Chris Perez. It wasn’t the long ball that hurt Pure Rage on Sunday, but rather the strike zone. Perez just couldn’t find any of the four corners of the strike zone, blowing both the save and the game for Cleveland. The Red Sox scored four runs off the closer in the inning, in route to a devastating 6-5 loss for the Tribe.

Tribe Happenings: Concerns with Pestano are growing
The Indians and their fans have a growing concern about the lack of command and vellocity from top flight setup man Vinnie Pestano. Those problems came to the surface on Saturday when he was very ineffective in a blown save, and Tony touches on his issues. He also discusses the overuse of Jason Giambi, how Lou Marson fits into things, the best offseason move maybe being Aviles and Gomes for Rogers, when Brett Myers will return and much more

Second Thoughts Game #48: Indians 4, Red Sox 7
Saturday was just one of those days. On yet another rainy day in historical Fenway Park, the Indians fell late and lost their second game of the four-game series to the Red Sox, 7-4. Recently winning 18 of their last 22 ballgames, the Tribe is now 1-4 in their last five games and just 1-5 in six games against Boston this season. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on a tough loss for the Indians...

Red Sox rally to defeat Indians 7-4
The Cleveland Indians looked poised to win game three of a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, but a late defensive miscue proved to be the difference maker as the Indians fell 7-4. With the loss, the Indians fell to 27-21, and have now lost four of their last five games played. Join the IBI's Stephanie Metzger as she provides all the play-by-play and details from what proved to be a frustrating Saturday afternoon for the Indians.

Trend Spotting: Nick Swisher’s stability and Perez stumbles
While Nick Swisher’s ebullient smile and incessant on-field/in dugout antics have endeared him to Indians fans as fast as one would expect; Swisher’s on field performance has been somewhat underrated with the stability of production he offers. On the other hand Chris Perez has had some early struggles but his numbers and career performance show he should be in for another 30 save season. The IBI's Michael Hattery takes a look at both in his weekly "Trend Spotting" piece.

Second Thoughts: Game #47: Red Sox 8, Indians 1
It was a rough night for the Cleveland Indians as the Tribe struggled significantly against Red Sox starter John Lackey. With two games left in the series, it's imperative for Indians starters Scott Kazmir and Corey Kluber to go out and give the team quality outings. Join the IBI's Michael Hattery as he looks back at last night's contest and offers his Second Thoughts while also looking ahead at what the future could hold for both Kazmir and Kluber...

Red Sox pummel Indians 8-1
Justin Masterson’s 19-inning scoreless streak came to a close as the Cleveland Indians fell to the Boston Red Sox 8-1 on Friday evening. Not much went right for the Indians in the contest as the offense and pitching performances were both inconsistent, and the team could only muster one run. Join the IBI's Stephanie Metzger as she recaps the contest and looks back at all the action after the jump...

Orbiting Cleveland: Extending Michael Brantley
Few Cleveland Indians players have been as consistent as Michael Brantley this season as the left-landed hitter has provided quality offense and defense in almost every game he's played. With his value now at an all-time high, should the Indians now be exploring a contract extension? Also, how much would the Indians have to spend to extend Brantley? Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he tackles both these questions in the weekly IBI staple, Orbiting Cleveland.

Second Thoughts Game #46: Indians 12, Red Sox 3
While the central storyline of this game was unavoidably the return of Terry Francona to Fenway, the Indians’ hammering of the Red Sox by a score of 12-3 should not be relegated to footnote status. This was a critical bounce back after a two-game stumble against Detroit, and it sets a very nice tone for a tough six-game holiday weekend road trip. The IBI's Andrew Clayman shares his second thoughts on the win...

Cleveland jumps on Boston, ride six-run sixth to 12-3 win
After Wednesday night’s rain-soaked finale to a short series with the Detroit Tigers, some timely hits and an explosive sixth inning lifted the Cleveland Indians over the Boston Red Sox with a 12-3 series premiere. Right-hander Zach McAllister (3-3, 2.89) received the start as the team picked up the pieces after Wednesday’s long-winded loss. Join Stephanie Metzger as she recaps Thursday's big win.

Second Thoughts Game #45: Tigers 11, Indians 7
Looking to gain a series split against division rival Detroit, the Indians entered Wednesday’s game hoping for a repeat of their May 11 game against the Tigers, where Ubaldo Jimenez outdueled Justin Verlander en route to a 7-6 win. That was not the case, however, as Jimenez struggled and Cleveland lost. Join Michael Goodman as he gives his Second Thoughts on the defeat and how worried he is after bad Ubaldo showed up Wednesday night.

Indians fall to Detroit 11-7, Tigers sweep two-game series
Just as the rain fell Wednesday night, so did the Tribe Thursday morning. After nine innings and two rain delays totaling one hour 50 minutes, the Detroit Tigers took down the Tribe 11-7, sweeping the two-game series at Progressive Field. Having won 18 of 22 coming into the highly anticipated matchup, Motown made quick work of Cleveland outscoring them 16-8 in the series.

Bauer & Carrasco at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario
Enough with the kids' gloves with regards to Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco. The time to get these kids into the rotation is now, and not later. This new version of the Indians is standing at a precipice that they've been at in both 2011 and 2012. Jim Pete takes a look at why the Indians should bring these kids up sooner, rather than later. He also opines about why this team may just be a contender, and ponders the importance of Ubaldo Jimenez vs. Justin Verlander tonight...

Introducing the Bench Mob
By now, most of us are well acquainted with the “Bullpen Mafia” moniker as the Indians relief corps has established itself as the team’s strength over the past several seasons. Well now allow the IBI's Jake Dungan to introduce you to quite possibly the next group of guys to earn a nickname branding: "The Bench Mob".
