Wednesday night was a good night in the organization, and not just because the major league club won. See, Wednesday night was #WashTime, as the outfielder made his presence known in Arizona. In addition to #WashTime, the organization also had some Tyler Naquin, a little Eric Haase, and much more. To read all about the night in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik as he takes you Around The Farm.

The AZL Indians dropped a second straight game Tuesday night, falling 7-2 to the AZL Cubs at Hohokam Park. In a game that was similar in many ways to Monday night’s contest, the AZL Indians failed to come alive offensively and even when they did score runs, the bullpen was unsuccessful in holding the lead.

The AZL A’s outlasted the AZL Indians on Monday night, prevailing 5-4 in 10 innings. Despite outhitting their opponent nine to five, the AZL Indians’ bats failed to string any really meaningful rally together for the majority of the game, spoiling a terrific outing by starter Kieran Lovegrove.

The AZL Indians put together arguably their most impressive victory of the season Friday night, as they dominated the AZL Mariners for nine innings and won comfortably 10-2. AZL Indians starter Sean Brady and first baseman Matt LaPorta set the tone early, allowing the Tribe to take control and never look back.

The Cleveland organization got homer-happy Thursday night, as Lake County led the way with four home runs on their own. None of those shots could overshadow what happened with Carolina, however, as the team hit their first walk-off home run of the season. To find out walked off for the Mudcats and everything else you need to know about the night in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Well not that Colon, obviously. While Tony is off having fun on vacation, Jim Piascik fills in, analyzing High-A Carolina right-hander Joseph Colon's return from injury and his development, admires and breaks down the progress Double-A outfielder Carlos Moncrief has made in 2013, checks in with Aeros manager Edwin Rodriguez on how a dozen of his players are doing and what changes they are making, and provides insight and information on the likes of Alex Monsalve, Bryson Myles, Dorssys Paulino, Nellie Rodriguez, D'Vone McClure, and more!

Nellie Rodriguez struggled at Lake County early in the season, making it was clear that the organization pushed the first baseman too quickly. After he was moved down to Mahoning Valley, Rodriguez looked better and started to produce, not that anyone could have seen Wednesday night coming. Rodriguez turned in a career performance, and to read all about it and the rest of the action from the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Now that we have hit the All-Star break and more than half the season is over, it felt right to have an updated prospect ranking on IBI. Since Tony will be putting in a ton of work ranking the prospects for 2014 soon enough, Jim Pete and Jim Piascik both ranked their top prospects and then merged their lists into one. Part one of that list is after the jump, as well as the two Jims' e-mail chain as they justified their rankings to each other.

The AZL Indians took care of business Monday night beating the AZL Dodgers 7-2. Although the AZL Indians looked shaky to begin the evening, they managed to come through with a five run fifth inning to power them past their Central Division rival.

There are all sorts of goodies in this week’s Minor Happenings report. Tony takes a look at the strides that Triple-A Columbus right-handed reliever Bryan Price has made and if he is on the major league radar, he puts versatile Low-A Lake County infielder Erik Gonzalez under the prospect microscope, he provides a ton of comments from the front office on players up and down the Single-A Mahoning Valley roster, and provides insight and information on the likes of Cord Phelps, Trey Haley, Cody Anderson, LeVon Washington, Matt LaPorta and more!

The losing streak finally ended Saturday night in Goodyear as the AZL Indians scratched and clawed their way to a solid, 4-3 victory over the AZL Angels.

The AZL Indians dropped their fifth straight game Friday night in a 8-5 loss to the AZL Angels. The AZL Angels, who own the second best record in the Arizona Rookie League, proved to be too strong and took advantage of eight walks issued by the AZL Indians, turning them into four of their eight runs on the evening.

Another day, another rough outing for the Indians pitching staff. I had to look twice to make sure that the box score was correct when I saw that the Giants scored 10 runs in the top of the eighth. This is the fourth straight game where the Indians pitchers have allowed at least eight runs in a game.

Early in the afternoon, former ATF darling and highly regarded prospect Danny Salazar led the big league club to victory. A success story like Salazar shows exactly why following these prospects is fun: you are getting a glimpse at the major league contributors of tomorrow. A few players were doing their best Salazar impersonations Thursday, including a first baseman at Columbus trying to jumpstart his season and an outfielder rehabbing in Arizona trying to get back. For all this and more, join Jim Piascik as he takes you Around The Farm.

The AZL Indians dropped their third straight game Wednesday night, falling to the AZL Giants by a final tally of 8-2. The AZL Giants improved to 14-2 on the season and demonstrated why they have the best record in the Arizona Rookie League, coming through with clutch hitting and strong pitching throughout the game.

There was no escaping the powerful storms that pushed through Northeast Ohio Wednesday night, as the Mudcats were delayed during their game in Virginia. The Mudcats were in the middle of an offensive outburst when the rains came down and, after the tarp was rolled back up, they continued assaulting the opposition. The Eastern League All-Star game in New Britain, Connecticut was also delayed, though there were fewer fireworks in that game. To read all about the night in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Tony takes a look at 10 of the hottest hitters in the organization from Double-A Akron to rookie level Arizona – some names you know well and some you don’t. The players are not ranked, but are listed by level and include the likes of Tyler Holt, Jose Ramirez, Joey Wendle, Jeremy Lucas, Dorssys Paulino, Anthony Santander, Logan Vick, Nellie Rodriguez, Clint Frazier and Joel Mejia. He provides insight into what kind of prospect each player is, their upside, their strengths and weaknesses, and some statistical trends as well.

The AZL Indians were flat from the first pitch to the last Monday night, as the visiting AZL Padres took a dominating 11-3 victory. It could have been the 100+ degree heat or the fact that they have played six games in as many days, but the usually energetic and loose AZL Indians were shells of their normal selves. They were out hit 18 to four on the evening and never managed to muster up any sort of fight.

If you take away the third, fourth and fifth innings, the Indians pitching staff threw great in Sunday’s game; however, three awful relief innings by AZL Indians relief pitcher Anthony Vizcaya spelled “doom” for the Tribe, as they got pummeled by the AZL Rangers 8-2.
