Scrappers rally to knock off Ironbirds, 5-3
Another great game by the Mahoning Valley Scrappers as they played the Aberdeen Ironbirds. The weather looked rocky at the start of the game but the rain held up until the very last inning letting the Scrappers play and win the game.

Around the Farm: July 16, 2014
The organization had a few All-Stars in action Wednesday night, though none really had a stellar performance that stood out. The same could be said for Carolina third baseman Yandy Diaz, though the bigger picture is much more encouraging when it comes to the 22-year-old. Join Jim Piascik as he recaps Diaz's debut season to date, updates you on a few rehabbing players in Arizona, and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

Around The Farm: July 12, 2014
In the early part of the season, Clint Frazier's performance did not truly look the part of a high first round pick. It was still early for the center fielder, however, and the lack of results was not truly a big problem. Lately, however, Frazier has turned things around and started to put up some big numbers. Join Arthur Kinney as he outlines Frazier's recent tear and recaps the rest of the action from the minor leagues, taking you Around the Farm.

12-Hit attack helps Scrappers snap skid in Lowell
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers came into their game on Saturday evening riding an eight game losing streak and had gone ten games without a double digit hitting performance. The offense took care of all of it in Lowell with a twelve hit attack on the way to a 9-3 win to end the losing streak at eight games.

Mejia is developing into a special defender behind the plate
Very few players come along in the minor leagues who are viewed as special in one particular skill. Lots of players are above average or considered “plus” with a certain skill, but few have what is considered an elite bat or elite arm. The Indians happen to have a couple of players in their system with elite skills or intangibles, but one player who has really come onto the scene and really stands out is catcher Francisco Mejia.

Scrappers late rally not enough to avoid sweep
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers came into Friday night’s game scuffling, having lost seven-straight. Despite a better overall performance, the Scrappers were unable to avoid dropping their eighth-straight game, 6-4, to the Hudson Valley Renegades. With the loss, the Scrappers have also now been swept in three-straight series.

Around the Farm: July 10, 2014
Well, LeBron James is still undecided. Or maybe he isn't. Who knows? But unlike James, one star in the Cleveland organization was ready to go Thursday night. Francisco Lindor may be having a slightly down season compared to his high standards, yet the shortstop still looks ready for a promotion sooner rather than later. Join Jim Piascik as he breaks down Lindor's night, recaps the rest of the action throughout the system, and takes you Around the Farm.

Mahoning Valley Scrappers nearly no-hit in loss to Hudson Valley
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers tallied just three hits while giving up 10 to the Hudson Valley Renegades in a 4-1 loss. Cameron Hill took his first loss of the season, despite giving up just one run through four innings, but Ramon Rodriguez allowed the majority of the damage with three runs in just two innings of work. Hudson Valley starter D.J. Slaton no-hit the Scrappers through six before exiting.

Around the Farm: July 9, 2014
Most of Cleveland seemed to come to a standstill while awaiting LeBron James' announcement on Wednesday, an announcement we are all still waiting to bear witness to. But while there was mostly inaction regarding The Decision 2.0, the minor leagues provided plenty of action, including Erik Gonzalez showing more signs of life following a bit of an extended slump. Join Jim Piascik as he breaks down Gonzalez's season to date and the rest of the action throughout the organization as he takes you Around the Farm.
