Big homers, Nellie Rodriguez help Scrappers sweep Cross-Cutters
Four straight hits in the fourth inning from the Scrappers would prove to be more than enough to sweep the two-game set with the Williamsport CrossCutters on Monday night by a final score of 5-2.

Rodriguez delivers walkoff knock for Scrappers over Williamsport
Five errors by the Williamsport CrossCutters in the final two innings of Sunday afternoon’s game gave the Scrappers men on first and third with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. With the Scrappers down 6-5, Nellie Rodriguez worked the count full with a chance to deliver... and he did.

Scrappers drop series debut 10-3
Coming off of their sweep of the State College Spikes, the Scrappers spirits were high coming into their battle with the Batavia Muckdogs. Unfortunately, those well-feelings didn’t last long as the Batavia ballclub thrashed the Scrappers by a final score of 10-3 on Friday night.

The Scrapperbook: 7/5/2013 to 7/25/2013
Since the last edition of the Scrapperbook was published, things have been very rocky for the boys of summer in Niles, Ohio. They went on to lose 12 games in a row, but have since battled back to win seven of their last nine games. The IBI's Hayden Grove gets us all caught up on things happening down in The Valley in his latest "Scrapperbook".

Around The Farm: July 25, 2013
We all know Francisco Lindor is an elite player, but watching his video game numbers pile up upon his promotion to Double-A is an entirely new level of dominance. Lindor did show his human side a little bit Thursday -- striking out for the first time -- but he more than made up for it in power. To read about Lindor's night, a Mahoning Valley infielder showing he can hit, and much more, join Jim Piascik as he takes you Around The Farm.

Around The Farm: July 24, 2013
Wednesday night was a good night in the organization, and not just because the major league club won. See, Wednesday night was #WashTime, as the outfielder made his presence known in Arizona. In addition to #WashTime, the organization also had some Tyler Naquin, a little Eric Haase, and much more. To read all about the night in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik as he takes you Around The Farm.

Around The Farm: July 18, 2013
The Cleveland organization got homer-happy Thursday night, as Lake County led the way with four home runs on their own. None of those shots could overshadow what happened with Carolina, however, as the team hit their first walk-off home run of the season. To find out walked off for the Mudcats and everything else you need to know about the night in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Minor Happenings: Colon's back and better than ever
Well not that Colon, obviously. Around The Farm: July 17, 2013
Nellie Rodriguez struggled at Lake County early in the season, making it was clear that the organization pushed the first baseman too quickly. After he was moved down to Mahoning Valley, Rodriguez looked better and started to produce, not that anyone could have seen Wednesday night coming. Rodriguez turned in a career performance, and to read all about it and the rest of the action from the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Rodriguez's career night not enough, Scrappers fall 7-5

The IBI midseason prospect rankings: #11-#20
Now that we have hit the All-Star break and more than half the season is over, it felt right to have an updated prospect ranking on IBI. Since Tony will be putting in a ton of work ranking the prospects for 2014 soon enough, Jim Pete and Jim Piascik both ranked their top prospects and then merged their lists into one. Part one of that list is after the jump, as well as the two Jims' e-mail chain as they justified their rankings to each other.

Scrappers end record long losing streak with 6-2 win
With an extra 48 minutes to think about their current 12-game losing streak due to a rain delay, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers were able to muster up the motivation to finally find a win, securing a 6-2 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters and ultimately ending the franchise-record losing streak.
