Yeison Asencio had two RBI's and the go-ahead single in the eighth inning as The Fort Wayne Tincaps defeated the Lake County Captains 4-3 in Parkview Field. Travis Jankowski led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a double to left field and then was sacrificed to third base. With the runner on third and one out, Asencio singled home the winning run.

The Lake County Captains took the first of a three-game series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods with a 7-2 win on Wednesday, due to another long ball from Alex Lavisky and another solid relief effort from Nick Pasquale. Right-handed All-Star Cody Anderson (4-7, 3.30) took the bump for the Captains to counter Bowling Green lefty Ryan Carpenter (11-7, 4.13).
The Lake County Captains dropped the final showing of a four-game series against the Great Lakes Loons on Tuesday with a 6-5 loss, despite a three-run shot from Alex Lavisky. Left-hander Elvis Aruajo took the bump for the Captains to face Great Lakes’ right-hander Raydel Sanchez (3-8, 4.61).
The Lake County Captains (35-28, 66-66) defeated the Great Lakes Loons (26-37, 62-71) by a final of 4-3. In the top of the ninth inning, Jose Ramirez lined a two out three-ball two- strike pitch down the left field line and motored into second base. His double scored Luigi Rodriguez to tie the game and Zach MacPhee scored from first to give the Captains the one run lead. Lake County held on for the 4-3 win.
The Great Lakes Loons took an early 3-0 lead and make it stick in a 4-2 win over the Lake County Captains on Sunday afternoon at Dow Diamond. Lake County dropped their second straight ballgame. The Captains left nine men on base for a total of 20 in the two games in the series.
