The Captains returned home this past week, where they posted a 3-4 record. The offense seemed to generate some more hits, though these hits didn't necessarily come at the right times. EASTLAKE, OH- The Great Lakes Loons (25-16, 52-59) scored five runs in the final two innings to win the series finale 8-3 over the Lake County Captains (19-22, 42-66) on Saturday night. In the last two games, the Captains bullpen has allowed nine runs in the final three innings of the game.
The Fort Wayne Tincaps scored four runs in the final three innings to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 7-5 victory over the Lake County Captains on Friday night in front of 3,693 fans at Classic Park. Fort Wayne won the season series 10-8.

Lake County had runs from center fielder Logan Vick and designated hitter Richard Stock, in addition to a home run from right fielder Jorge Martinez. Stock is also on a 14-game hitting streak.
A string of losses punt a dent in the Lake County Captains’ week, but the team managed to pin a trio of close wins. The month of July resulted in a 12-14 record and it seemed the team couldn’t string wins together, with the exception of a six-game win streak the first week of the month. After three straight losses on their road trip, The Captains were able to rebound and grab a 5-4 victory from the Great Lakes Loons on Sunday. This victory was from the fourth game during The Captains eight game road trip.
