The Lake County Captains (22-24, 45-68) used a three-run seventh inning to take the middle game of a three-game series with the Dayton Dragons (25-22, 53-63) on Thursday night. A big inning late in the game has been the key so far in the series.

He reviews several players including Eric Haase, Jeremy Lucas, Joe Sever, Dace Kime, Cole Sulser, Luis Lugo, Clint Frazier, D'Vone McClure, Sean Brady and many more.

Why not bask in the insane success of Trevor Frank in the Mahoning Valley bullpen or the way that a finally healthy Alex Monsalve is producing at Akron? Leave all your Tiger trouble behind and join Jim Piascik as he recaps all you need to know about Wednesday night in the minor leagues and goes Around The Farm.
The Captains returned home this past week, where they posted a 3-4 record. The offense seemed to generate some more hits, though these hits didn't necessarily come at the right times. Timely hitting has been an issue for the team all season, but a couple of home runs boosted the offense through a few games. Stephanie Metzger recaps the week that was for the Captains.
The Loons attempted to come back strong from their 11-4 loss to the Captains Monday night, but the Captains didn't allow it, grabbing themselves a 5-3 victory and splitting the series 2-2 with the Loons.
In today's new edition of Minor Happenings, Tony takes a look at the hot play of Mahoning Valley first baseman Nellie Rodriguez and looks at his value and the strides he has made. He also provides a ton of comments from the front office on players at rookie level Arizona such as Kieran Lovegrove, Mitch Brown, Anderson Polanco, Gerald Bautista, D’Vone McClure and many more, and also provides some insight from the front office on the promotion process.

So often, the difference between a prospect developing into a major leaguer or busting out in the minors is health. Some players are just unlucky with their bodies and see their careers end while others manage to stay on the field and make something happen. Bryson Myles is turning heads now that he is healthy and he continued to do so Thursday night. To read about Myles and everything else you need to know about the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.
The Captains held a 3-0 lead after the top of the seventh, but the TinCaps came back in the bottom of the seventh to grab the 4-3 victory. Lake County had runs from center fielder Logan Vick and designated hitter Richard Stock, in addition to a home run from right fielder Jorge Martinez. Stock is also on a 14-game hitting streak.
A string of losses punt a dent in the Lake County Captains’ week, but the team managed to pin a trio of close wins. The month of July resulted in a 12-14 record and it seemed the team couldn’t string wins together, with the exception of a six-game win streak the first week of the month. The IBI's Stephanie Metzger recaps the previous week for the Captains.
