Sever walk helps Carolina Mudcats to comeback win against Dash
After a rain delay of almost 90 minutes, the Carolina Mudcats came back to beat the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-4, Thursday. In today’s Minor Happenings the IBI's Tony Lastoria takes a look at the comeback that right-handed reliever Tyler Sturdevant is making, why he has had so much success this season and where he fits into the Indians’ Major League plans. He also looks at infielder Paul Hendrix’s outstanding month of May and All Star snub, how left-hander Luis Lugo is having an excellent season that many are not even aware he is having and how infielder Audy Ciriaco has been a man of many hats and been one of the Indians better minor league signings at Triple-A in some time.

Around the Farm: June 4, 2014
You know it's a good night offensively on the farm when you average 10 runs per team. Columbus, Akron, and Carolina all went off at the plate Wednesday, scoring runs left and right on the way to victory. Leading the charge in Akron was a familiar face in second baseman Joey Wendle, as the infielder typically makes waves with his bat. Join Jim Piascik as he looks at Wendle's performance, breaks down Yhoxian Medina's effort in Carolina, and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

Carolina Mudcats give up 12 hits, lose to Winston-Salem, 4-2
An early deficit proved to be too much for the Carolina Mudcats as they suffered a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Winston-Salem Dash on Tuesday night. A late rally from the Mudcats wasn't enough to recover from the four run deficit that was created behind the stellar pitching of Winston-Salem's Tyler Danish.

The Carolina Mudcats fell to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-2 Sunday despite taking a lead into the eighth inning. Mudcats ace Ryan Merritt was in line to become the first pitcher in the Carolina League to seven wins, but, ultimately, had to settle for a no decision after the Mudcats bullpen blew their fifth save of the season.

Around the Farm: May 29, 2014

Elsewhere, Adam Plutko made his Carolina League debut, Lake County *only* allowed eight runs (breaking the mold set by Akron and Columbus), and much more. Around the Farm: May 28, 2014
With the month of June approaching, it is likely the time worthy players will start earning promotions to the next level. Adam Plutko started the process, moving from Lake County to Carolina, but a few others look primed to make jumps of their own. Lake County infielder Paul Hendrix is one, as he continues to rake, as is fellow Captain Jordan Milbrath. However, Wednesday's headliner, Cole Sulser, is not as close to a promotion as Hendrix or Milbrath, but the right-hander was impressive in his own right. Join Jim Piascik as he analyzes Sulser's turnaround and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.
