Mudcats enjoy offensive outburst in 11-9 win
The Carolina Mudcats launched some towering home runs to drive across six in an 11-9 win over the Winston-Salem Dash on Wednesday afternoon at Five County Stadium. A crowd of 1,852 watched Bo Greenwell, Ronny Rodriguez and Carlos Moncrief crush long balls throughout the afternoon, and the Mudcats improved to 15-11, 46-49 overall.

Huge seventh inning propels Mudcats to win
The Carolina Mudcats (13-11) exploded late to even the series at one as they beat the Winston Salem Dash (13-11) 7-6 on Tuesday. The game looked as though it was going to be a pitchers duel as it was 1-1 after six innings, but both offenses put rallies together in the seventh inning.

Mudcats battle back, but fall short
The Carolina Mudcats (13-10) fought back from deficits of four and three runs to tie the game at 4-4 and 7-7 but ended up falling by a score of 8-7 to the Winston Salem Dash (12-11) in the opening game of a four game series on Monday night.

IPI Hot List: 2012 Week 15

Mudcats blast Keys to salvage series split
The Carolina Mudcats cracked a pair of firsts in a big 10-6 win over the Frederick Keys on Sunday night at Harry Grove Stadium. The victory means a split of the four-game series at Frederick. Carlos Moncrief powered the Mudcats’ first grand slam of 2012 out to left for a 5-0 lead in the first inning.

Packer outduels Bundy, 3-1
The Frederick Keys sent the much-heralded Dylan Bundy to the mound looking for a series win on Saturday night, but the Carolina Mudcats’ Matt Packer was just a little bit better in a 3-1 triumph at Harry Grove Stadium.

Mudcats Drop Heartbreaker at Frederick
The Carolina Mudcats watched another rally thwarted when the Frederick Keys came up with one of their own on Thursday night at Harry Grove Stadium. Pinch hitter Mike Flacco launched a towering two-run shot over the left field wall, and the Keys escaped, 4-3.

Mudcats fall to P-Nats, 2-1
Nathan Karns held the Carolina Mudcats to one run over seven innings as the Potomac Nationals claimed the series with 2-1 victory on Monday night at Pfitzner Stadium. Karns (4-2) scattered three hits as the Potomac Nationals improved to 10-9, 41-48 overall. The Mudcats fell to 11-8, 43-46 overall.

Rayl dominates as Mudcats win 3-2
There's a good chance Alex Monslave won't forget his first hit as a Carolina Mudcat. The catcher recorded his first hit, a home run, to back a dominating start from Mike Rayl to lead Carolina to a 3-2 win over the Potomac Nationals.

Errors costly again as Mudcats fall 4-3
A day after committing five errors against Salem, the Carolina Mudcats faltered on two different occasions that led to pivotal runs in a 4-3 loss to the Potomac Nationals on Saturday night at Pfitzner Stadium. Carolina dropped to 10-6 in the second half, and 42-45 overall. Potomac scored the winning run on Kevin Keyes’ 10th home run of the year in the eighth inning.

Red Sox Rout Mudcats 16-2 In A Rain-Soaked Affair
The rubber match between the Carolina Mudcats (10-5) and Salem Red Sox (4-11) was delayed 41 minutes due to rain, but the Mudcats probably wish it had just been cancelled as they were walloped by the Red Sox 16-2. The Mudcats will look to get back on track as they hit the road to take on the Potomac Nationals on Sunday night at 6:35.

Clutch hits give Mudcats 4-3 win
The Carolina Mudcats (9-5) were able to bounce back from the beat down they received on Wednesday night to take the second game of the series from the Salem Red Sox (4-10) with a 4-3 win on Thursday night. After starter Michael Goodnight retired the side in order in the top of the first, Right fielder Bo Greenwell stroked a solo shot over the right field wall in the bottom of the inning to give the Mudcats an early 1-0 lead.

The Carolina Mudcats (9-4) were overwhelmed by the Salem Red Sox (3-10) on Independence day as they fell 12-3 on Wednesday. The fireworks started early for the Red Sox as they put up five runs in the first inning against Mudcat starter Will Roberts.

Rayl strong in Mudcats 5-3 win
The Carolina Mudcats (8-4) completed the sweep of the Potomac Nationals (6-6) as they took the final game of the series 5-3 on Tuesday night. The Mudcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and it seemed as though the Mudcats would be able to again cruise to victory as Mike Rayl breezed through the first four innings.
