The final shot capped a four-run comeback by the Mudcats (10-9). The loss drops Lynchburg to 10-8. Dale Dickerson (1-2) was awarded the win by pitching the ninth inning. Tice, Mucdats hammer the Hillcats, 5-2
The Carolina Mudcats (8-9) looked to get their pitching back on track following a 14-8 blow out on Tuesday night as they took on the Lynchburg Hillcats (10-6) for the third game of a four game series. The Mudcats behind Jeremie Tice’s two home runs and four RBI’s were able to beat the Hillcats 5-2. “I’m glad for Tice as he had a great spring training," Mudcats manager Edwin Rodriguez said. "He was struggling a little bit at the beginning of the season and now he’s getting his swing back and he’s the big power guy in the middle of the lineup.”

Fishing For Mudcats: "We'll split up the week, okay?..."
The Mudcats returned home from a weak road trip and began slugging the ball. While their starters began to resemble the great pitching of 2010 and 2011, the bullpen more resembled a horror movie than a bullpen mafia. What could have been a break-out week, turned into a wash. Jim Pete returns with Fishing For Mudcats, the Carolina Mudcats notebook...

Mudcats bullpen implodes in 14-8 loss
On Tuesday night the Carolina Mudcats (8-8) looked to get above the .500 mark for the first time since April 15th as they took on the Lynchburg Hillcats (9-6) for the second game of the four game series. The story of this game was the awful pitching by the Mudcats bullpen that resulted in a 14-8 loss. The Hillcats jumped all over the Mudcats bullpen and scored 13 of their 14 runs against them. The Mudcats had an early 4-1 lead but the bullpen was unable to hold the Hillcats off the scoreboard.

Mudcats strike early and hold on for win
The Carolina Mudcats (7-8) looked to get back to .500 on a cold night at Five County Stadium, as they took on the Lynchburg Hillcats (9-5), the A+ affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The Mudcats were able to score early taking an early 5-1 lead after the third inning and that is all the scoring they would need as the bullpen was able hold on at the end giving the Mudcats a 5-4 win in the series opener. This game had all the makings off a great pitching matchup.

Mudcats beat the Pelicans and weather, 7-2
On a rainy, overcast day at Five County Stadium the Carolina Mudcats (6-8) and Myrtle Beach Pelicans (8-6) took the field for the third game of the series. A heavy rain storm that came through Zebulon delayed the game after the start of the second inning for an hour and 23 minutes. The delay would ultimately cut both the Mudcats and Pelicans starters’ nights short. But the rain would not cool of the Mudcats bats as they were able to crank out seven extra base hits in a 7-2 win over the Pelicans.

Ronny Rodriguez error costs Mudcats 7-5 loss
The Carolina Mudcats blew a 5-4 lead in the ninth inning, as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans would use a comedy of Mudcats’ errors to win the game by a final score of 7-5. T.J. House took the mound for the Mudcats, coming off being named the Cleveland Indians minor league Player of the Week. The lefty entered the night having yet to yield an earned run through his first two starts, which extended over a period of 13 innings.

Mudcats come back, but lose in ninth
Looking to bounce back after a disappointing road trip in which the Carolina Mudcats went 2-4, the Mudcats (6-6) took on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (6-6) on Thursday night at Five County stadium to open a four game series. The Mudcats were able to crawl back into the game after starter Micahel Goodnight struggled early. The Mudcats were down 5-1 after the top of the fourth but were able to come back and take the lead going into the ninth 6-5. Reliever Jordan Cooper wasn’t able to close the game out as he allowed two runs in the ninth which ultimately cost the Mudcats the game as they would end up losing 7-6.
