Mudcats hooked by Keys, 7-2
The Frederick Keys plated seven runs over three innings, and defeated the Carolina Mudcats 7-2 in six-and-one-half innings on a soaking Wednesday night at Five County Stadium. The game was called with two on and no outs in the bottom of the seventh due to a steady downpour. Kyle Blair (1-1) was hit hard in relief for the Mudcats (22-23). Blair allowed seven runs on five hits, and walked a season-high five hitters in two-and-a-third innings.

Mudcats 9th inning rally falls short, lose 5-4
The Carolina Mudcats (20-17) ninth inning rally fell short as they lost to the Salem Red Sox (20-15) 5-4 in third game of the four game series on Wednesday night. The Mudcats were blanked for most of the night thanks in large part to Red Sox starter Ryan Pressly who went seven scoreless innings striking out eight while scattering four hits.

Fishing for Mudcats: "Seems like old times..."

The pitching has really started to carry this team. How much? Hop in the outboard and let's go Fishing for some Mudcats, as Jim Pete brings the Muddies weekly notebook.
