Lindor and Naquin are Fishing for Mudcats
The Carolina Mudcats just aren't very good right now. The team has been riddled with injury since the middle of April, but even with the missing starters, have had a hard time plating runners. Three guys that haven't been struggling are #1 picks Francisco Lindor and Tyler Naquin, who really are the leaders of this ballclub. You throw in starter Cody Anderson, who's been dominant of late, and you have three of the most intriguing prospects in the system. Join Jim Pete, as he goes Fishing for Mudcats.

Around The Farm: May 18, 2013
Saturday's action in the minor leagues was headlined by the performances of a few former blue chippers in the Columbus lineup, along with an assist from a journeyman veteran. Meanwhile in Lake County, a starting pitcher turned in his most dominant start to date, while Akron and Columbus struggled to score enough runs to win. To read all about Saturday in the minor leagues, join Michael Hattery as he takes you Around The Farm.

Unearned runs help Hillcats top Mudcats 7-3
The Carolina Mudcats dropped their sixth straight game to the Lynchburg Hillcats, falling 7-3 Saturday night at Calvin Falwell Field. Six unearned runs against the Mudcats over two innings allowed the Hillcats to achieve an easy victory. Right-handed pitcher Nick Pasquale (0-2) took the loss for the Mudcats. Pasquale allowed seven runs on ten hits in 4.2 innings, but only one of the seven runs was earned.

Mudcats fall in extras to the Hillcats, 7-6
Matt Weaver’s third hit of the night proved to be a knockout blow as the Lynchburg Hillcats edged the Carolina Mudcats 7-6 in 11 innings on Friday night at Calvin Falwell Field inside City Stadium. The game was Carolina’s fifth in the last seven games decided by one run.

Around The Farm: May 17, 2013
It was a full slate of action on Friday night as all of the Indians affiliates were back in action. Ezequiel Carrera chipped in with a good all-around showing in Columbus, Tyler Naquin was an on-base machine in Carolina, Charlie Valerio continued his good season to date and more. The IBI's Arthur Kinney takes us around the farm...

Battaglia's game winning hit snaps Mudcats nine game home losing streak
The Carolina Mudcats may have been down late in the bottom of the ninth, but they were not ready to roll over and extend their losing streak just yet. With Naquin on third and Lindor standing on second, backup catcher Ryan Battaglia singled to shallow left field and both Naquin and Lindor were waved around to score to give Carolina the 5-4 win.

Around The Farm: May 15, 2013
If you like great pitching performances, then you might want to avert your eyes from last night in the Cleveland organization. The pitching at each of the affiliates left something to be desired, leaving the onus on the offense to make something happen. Some teams did better than others, especially a sometimes-forgotten outfielder in Lake County. To find out who this is and all you need to know about what happened in the minor leagues last night, join Jim Piascik go Around The Farm.

Closing Games Haunts Mudcats in Losing Streak
On a beautiful night at Five County Stadium, Carolina Mudcats pitcher Jacob Lee challenged the Red Sox batters through the sixth inning, though Salem caught up with him in the seventh inning. After a great start, both offensively and defensively, the momentum slowed and the Mudcats inability to consistently close games haunted them yet again as Salem took the late lead and the 5-4 victory.

Mudcats narrowly fall 2-1
ZEBULON, N.C.- In a pitcher’s duel, the Salem Red Sox’s hitting came at just the right times to top the Carolina Mudcats 2-1 on Tuesday night. A home run by the Salem first baseman Matt Gedman was just what the Red Sox needed to hold off and extend the Mudcats’ losing streak.
