Mudcats can't hold late lead, fall 5-3
The Carolina Mudcats blew an eighth inning, one run lead to give the Wilmington Blue Rocks a 5-3 victory at Frawley Stadium on Tuesday night. The Blue Rocks came up to bat in the bottom of the eighth inning facing a 3-2 defiect. Mudcats’ reliever Dale Dickerson had replaced fellow reliever Shawn Armstrong with two outs in the seventh inning after pitching nearly three scoreless innings, holding Wilmington to just two hits while striking out four batters.

Wilmington crushes Carolina, 9-2
The Carolina Mudcats first game outside of North Carolina this season wasn’t pretty. The Wilmington Blue Rocks defeated the Mudcats 9-2 at Frawley Stadium on Monday night. Carolina is on a down swing, dropping two of their last three games, bringing their season record to 5-5. For Carolina, the game didn’t begin as poorly as it ended. The Mudcats managed to gain an early 2-0 lead over the Blue Rocks in the top of the first inning.

Mudcats' sloppy defense leads to 6-5 loss
On Sunday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark, the Winston-Salem Dash defeated the Carolina Mudcats 6-5 despite giving up two home runs. Carolina was able to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the sixth inning, but Winston-Salem took advantage of an ill-advised Mudcats pitching change scoring two runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach. The Dash got their offense rolling early off Mudcats’ left handed starting pitcher T.J. House.

Early inning scoring frenzy lifts Mudcats to win
The Carolina Mudcats scored six early runs en route to a 7-3 victory over the Winston-Salem Dash on Saturday night at BB&T Ballpark. After allowing an early two-run homer in the first inning to Dash center fielder Trayce Thompson, Mudcats’ right-handed starting pitcher Michael Goodnight was able to effectively shut down the Winston-Salem offense until he was relieved in the sixth inning.

Dash blank Mudcats 1-0
Friday the 13th proved to be an unlucky day for the Carolina Mudcats as they failed to score a single run, losing their first road game of the season to their in-state rivals the Winston-Salem Dash, 1-0. The Mudcats out hit Winston-Salem seven to three, but they left nine runners stranded on the bases. Dash starting pitcher Andre Rienzo threw six innings allowing six hits while striking out nine batters. Never yielding a single run, Rienzo forced Carolina batters to pop up or ground out all night long.

Jake Lowery comes up big in Mudcats 5-3 victory
The Carolina Mudcats (3-2) were able to pull off a 5-3 win to take the series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (2-3) on a chilly evening at Five County Stadium Wednesday to wrap up their three game set. The Mudcats now have opened up the year with two straight series wins as they were able to take two of three from both the Blue Rocks and the Winston Salem Dash to open the year.

House looking to repair his cracked foundation
High-A Carolina Mudcats left-handed pitcher T.J. House had a disappointing season last year, but Monday night he had a great 2012 debut with seven shutout innings. Tony recently sat down with House and talked about his season last year and what he did to fix some of the struggles he went through.

Mudcats drop a close one 3-2
In their attempt to take the series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the second game the Mudcats lost a close one 3-2. Right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar took the mound for the Mudcats and went into the game on a strict pitch limit as he is still in the process of being stretched out. He is the only member of the Mudcats on the Cleveland Indians 40-man roster. Salazar had a less then stellar outing as he ended up going three and two thirds innings and gave up three runs on four hits and three walks.

House throws a gen in Mudcats 6-0 win
The Mudcats opened a three game set with a 6-0 win against the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Monday night. Lefty T.J. House took the mound for his first start for the Mudcats and was up against Greg Billo for the Blue Rocks. House would turn in the best starting pitching performance for the Mudcats in the early going of the season as he went seven scoreless innings only giving up two hits and had nine strikeouts. In five of the seven innings he pitched he faced the minimum.

Ninth inning rally lifts Mudcats over Dash
The Carolina Mudcats defeated the Winston-Salem Dash 10-9 on Sunday afternoon to win a zany game, and take the first series of their young season at Five County Stadium. Clayton Ehlert blew the lead in the ninth inning, but clutch hitting and shoddy defense gave the Mudcats the three runs they needed in the ninth to give them the victory.

Dash even up series with Mudcats
The Winston-Salem Dash quickly erased the memory of their opening day loss to the Carolina Mudcats with a strong 7-2 victory on Saturday night at Five County Stadium. A towering solo home run in the second inning by Dash catcher Mike Blanke set the tone for the evening, and Mudcats' left-handed starting pitcher Mike Rayl got the loss due to a four run fourth inning by Winston- Salem that put the game out of reach.
