The Carolina Mudcats failed to find a solution to foil the red-hot Winston-Salem Dash, dropping an 11-1 decision on Thursday night at BB&T Ballpark in the final game of the season series. The Dash (19-16, 63-40) finished 14-6 in the 2012 regular season against the Mudcats (17-17, 49-55) after sweeping the four-game series.

For the second straight night the start of the game would be delayed as a rain storm pushed the start time back 31 minutes and then caused the game to end after the eighth. The Carolina Mudcats launched some towering home runs to drive across six in an 11-9 win over the Winston-Salem Dash on Wednesday afternoon at Five County Stadium. A crowd of 1,852 watched Bo Greenwell, Ronny Rodriguez and Carlos Moncrief crush long balls throughout the afternoon, and the Mudcats improved to 15-11, 46-49 overall.
