After giving up eight runs through the first four innings, the Akron RubberDucks made a desperate comeback attempt, but fell short as they lost to the Trenton Thunder, 9-5. Tyler Naquin tallied three hits, as did Tyler Holt, but the 12 total hits for the team were not enough to make up for a 1-11 showing with runners in scoring position.

Akron’s hurlers have now allowed just eight runs in the past four games, and continued that success on Thursday as Will Roberts, Tyler Sturdevant and Kyle Crockett combined to throw a six hit, two-run performance.
