Aeros take series, down Baysox 4-2
The Akron Aeros won the third and final game of their series with the Bowie Baysox behind some big-time hitting from first baseman Adam Abraham, who drove in three runs to pace Akron in a 4-2 win Monday afternoon at Prince George’s Stadium.

Diaz's historic night leads the Aeros
BOWIE, MD – Led by a record-setting night from shortstop Juan Diaz, the Akron Aeros downed the Bowie Baysox 11-8 at Prince George’s Stadium Sunday night. Diaz recorded eight RBIs, becoming only the third Aero to ever accomplish the feat.

Bowie runs away with 7-1 victory over Akron
After the Akron Aeros got on the board early in the first inning, the Bowie Baysox scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Aeros, 7-1, in the opener of a three-game series at Prince George’s Stadium. Akron continued its struggles just games before the Eastern League All-Star break. The Aeros have now dropped nine of their last 12 games and have just a 2.5 game lead in the EL Western Division.

Aeros Drop Game, Series To SeaWolves 6-3
The Erie SeaWolves fought back from a three-run deficit, riding six unanswered runs to a 6-3 win over the Akron Aeros in the final game of a three-game series Friday night at Jerry Uht Park. The Aeros (50-37) lost two of three against the SeaWolves (42-43) to complete the first half of their current road trip.

Akron loses back and forth tussle with Erie
The Akron Aeros lost a tough back-and-forth battle, 8-6, to the Erie Seawolves Thursday on the road at Jerry Uht Park. Both the Aeros and the Seawolves put eleven hits on the board, but a clutch single by Erie designated hitter Rawley Bishop in the bottom of the eighth inning would seal the deal for the Seawolves.

Diaz, Espino lead Aeros to 9-2 win in Erie
The Akron Aeros have enjoyed prolific offensive outbursts this season, and they have benefited often from terrific pitching performances. The two haven’t always occurred on the same night, however. That changed Wednesday night in Erie, as the Aeros snapped a three-game losing streak with a 9-2 victory over the SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park.

Brach struggles, Aeros lose 7-5
Richmond catcher Johnny Monell hit his second home run in as many nights when he smacked a game-winning two-run shot in the third inning of Richmond’s 7-5 victory over Akron on Tuesday night at Canal Park. Monell and the Flying Squirrel offense combined for 15 hits as they roughed up Akron starter Brett Brach for seven total runs to defeat the Aeros.

Launching Off With The Aeros: 6/26/12 - 7/2/12
It was a rare bad week for your Akron Aeros, as they dropped five of their seven games. There's no need to despair, however. The Aeros still have the best record in the Eastern League and plenty of great players. As always, it's time to Launch Off With The Aeros with Jim Piascik and the best of the best from Akron over the past week.

Aeros fall to Flying Squirrels, 9-5
Richmond left fielder Nick Liles hit a two-run single in the 11th inning to put the Flying Squirrels ahead, as the Akron Aeros lost 9-5 Monday night at Canal Park. Richmond grabbed an early lead in the first inning off Aeros starter Steven Wright and never trailed in the game. The Squirrels increased the lead to 4-0 after scoring three runs in the third, the first of which came from a homer hit by Richmond designated hitter Johnny Monell. Richmond added another run in the fourth to make the score 5-0.

Richmond blanks Aeros, 6-0
Akron and Richmond took the field Sunday afternoon for game two of their four game series, as the Aeros were shut out 6-0 by the visiting Flying Squirrels.The Flying Squirrels had four pitchers combine for the shutout, none more impressive than starter Michael Kickham (6-6), who picked up the win pitching six innings, giving up five hits and striking out seven.

How I Met Your Aeros: Bryce Stowell
Akron Aeros reliever Bryce Stowell has been tearing up the Eastern League and should have a chance at sniffing the big leagues either as a September callup or in 2013. Stowell recently spoke with Jim Piascik about his adjustments before the season started, whether or not he actively tries to strike batters out, how he's recovering from an injury scare earlier in the year, and how he sees his path to the Majors unfolding.
