RubberDucks rally to knock off SeaWolves on the road
Designated hitter Tyler Holt rose to the occasion in the top of the ninth inning, and hit what turned out to be the game-winning two-out RBI single off of Slade Smith (0-1, 9.53) to center field that brought in Bryson Myles. New arrival J.C. Ramirez (1-0, 0.00) followed with a 1-2-3 ninth inning, which secured the Akron RubberDucks 2-1 victory over the Erie SeaWolves (18-22).

SeaWolves Edge RubberDucks, 2-1
Erie SeaWolves lefty Kyle Ryan tossed shutout baseball for nearly seven innings, and Jason Krizan had a pair of hits and an RBI to lead Erie to a 2-1 victory over the Akron RubberDucks Saturday night at Jerry Uht Park. The loss snapped Akron’s four-game winning streak and set the stage for the rubber-match of the three-game series on Sunday afternoon at 1:35. The RubberDucks (27-14) maintained their five-game lead in the EL West, as second-place Bowie lost at Reading. Despite the loss, Akron is still one of the hottest teams in the minor leagues, having won 17 of the last 20 games.

Around The Farm: May 16, 2014
An All-Star in 2012, Bryan LaHair should be in Columbus as he works his way back toward the major leagues. Circumstances have him playing in Akron, however, which was a good thing for the RubberDucks Friday night. The first baseman led the RubberDucks to a win in extra innings in addition to headlining the night on the farm. Join Arthur Kinney as he analyzes LaHair's night and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

Around the Farm: May 14, 2014
No matter how often we see that April stats have little predictive use for the rest of the season, it is hard not to react to someone's extreme highs or lows out of the gate. Following about as bad of an April as you can see, it was easy to pile on Ronny Rodriguez. But Rodriguez's recent hot stretch is yet another reason why we cannot make any profound judgment on April stats. Join Jim Piascik as he writes about Rodriguez's powerful day, Tyler Naquin hitting the ball hard, and much more as he takes you Around the Farm.

Righty Enosil Tejeda (2-0, 2.03) got the win, and newly promoted Rafael Martin (0-1, 81.00) was handed his first loss of the season.

Around the Farm: May 8, 2014
Some nights, nothing of note happens on the Cleveland sports scene. Others go absolutely crazy (and I'm not just talking about the glorious arrival of Johnny Manziel). The big league team got a win Thursday, but the minor leagues were filled with great performances as well. Adam Plutko put together the best outing of his career, Francisco Lindor hit a huge grand slam, Trevor Bauer continued dealing, and that is just the beginning. Join Jim Piascik as he recaps it all and takes you Around the Farm.

Akron RubberDucks fall to Erie SeaWolves, 10-3
The Akron RubberDucks took on the Erie SeaWolves looking for win No. 21 Wednesday. Unfortunately for the RubberDucks, that win will have to wait as they fell to Erie, 10-3. Starter Cody Anderson lasted just 2.2 innings, giving up all 10 runs on nine hits. Enosil Ejada, Tyler Sturdevant and Shawn Armstrong combined to go 5.1 innings of shutout ball, but it was too little, too late for Akron.
