Aeros fall to Baysox for second loss in a row
The Akron Aeros fell to the Bowie Baysox, 7-5, Friday for their second straight loss. Making his fifth start of the season left-handed pitcher Eric Berger manned the mound for the first five innings of the game. He faced 22 batters and allowed three runs, struck out two and walked one. Jared Goedert got the Aeros going in the first inning with a line drive single up the middle. Chun Chen followed up with a big home run to left field putting Akron up to a quick 2-0 lead.

Akron's streak comes to an end in 7-3 loss
The Akron Aeros lost their home stand finale 7-3 after falling into a deep hole early in the game. Mason Radeke (1-1, 0.00) lost his first game after pitching three innings in a spot start. In the first, Radeke got two quick outs before walking B-Mets second baseman Reese Havens. The next runner reached on a fielding error by shortstop Juan Diaz. Both runners scored on a three-run home run by right fielder Raul Reyes to right center.

Minor Happenings: Soto’s value is skyrocketing
In today's Happenings Tony talks about lefty Giovanni Soto who is really coming into his own and has become a nice starting pitching prospect for the Indians. Soto, Aeros cruise to 8th straight win
Akron Aeros southpaw Giovanni Soto pitched seven masterful innings of one-run baseball on Wednesday, carrying the Aeros to a 3-1 win over the Binghamton Mets at Canal Park. The first-place Aeros (17-6) extended their winning streak to eight games. They have won all six games on the current home stand, and are 11-2 at home this season. Akron’s lead in the Eastern League Western Division stands at 4.5 games.

Chen plays hero, Aeros win 7th straight
The Eastern League leading Akron Aeros extended their winning streak to seven games with a 6-5 victory over the Binghamton Mets on Tuesday night. Akron starting pitcher lefty T.J. House made his first appearance as an Aero. He had a rocky start hitting the first batter of the game and allowing the Mets to quickly jump out front putting two runs on the board in the first and second innings.

Minor Happenings: Injuries continue to pile up
A month into the season the injuries are starting to mount up for the young Indians. Tony has a big update on those players down for some time or just nicked up, including LeVon Washington, Lonnie Chisenhall, Bryce Stowell, Scott Barnes, Hector Rondon and many others. In addition to the injuries, Tony also discusses several other players in the organization such as Steven Wright, Will Roberts, David Huff, Shawn Armstrong, T.J. McFarland, Matt LaPorta, Jeremie Tice and Jeff Johnson.

Akron nips Binghamton 3-2
The first place Akron Aeros beat the Binghamton Mets, 3-2, Monday to improve to a 6-0 winning streak. Right-handed reliever Rob Bryson took home his second win of the season, going for 2 2/3 innings, while allowing three hits; one run and one strike out. It wasn’t a perfect outing for Bryson, but it was good enough to put up another tally in the win column.

3 up, 3 down is a weekly premium feature on the site that focuses in on a few of the good and not so good performances from the past week in the Indians’ minor league system. Aeros sweep marathon doubleheader
After a rainout on Saturday, the Akron Aeros swept a double header against Altoona, playing a total of 20 innings in the process. In the opening game, Eric Berger gave up two unearned runs courtesy of a throwing error and a wild pitch to give Altoona a second inning lead. He pitched four and two-thirds innings, giving up three hits and three walks while striking out two.

The Bryce is Right
Right-handed pitcher Bryce Stowell has been lights out so far this season for Double-A Akron. After a mysterious season last year where he missed a few months at the beginning of the season, Tony recently sat down with him and talked about what happened last year and how he feels this season.

Akron hold on for 2-1 win
The Akron Aeros defeated the Altoona Curve 2-1 in the first game of their three game series. Reliever Bryan Price picked up the win in relief. “Bryan came in and really did a good job commanding his fastball," said Aeros Manager Chris Tremie. “He kept the ball down in the zone for an outstanding two and a third innings.” Price came into the game in the top of the sixth inning to relieve starter Giovanni Soto. The right-hander, who has an ERA of 1.42, faced nine batters and only walked one. He struck out five batters, all swinging.
