Minor Happenings: Lindor is excelling in all areas
In today’s Minor Happenings, Tony get us all up to speed on a flurry of comments from Ross Atkins on players at the Double-A and Triple-A level, and also talk about Francisco Lindor’s impressive play and development, the value of lefty Francisco Jimenez, the slow return to form of Cord Phelps, what Matt LaPorta’s dominance in Triple-A means, the future of Nick Weglarz with the Indians and in baseball, the emergence of young Latin prospect Luis Lugo and lots more!

Soto not sharp in Aeros 6-3 loss
Erie’s Rawley Bishop went 3-4, with three RBI’s Monday night, and helped lead the SeaWolves to a 6-3 victory over the Akron Aeros at Jerry Uht Park. The Aeros (22-13) have now lost a season-high four straight games. The SeaWolves, meanwhile, won for the sixth straight time. Akron’s division lead now stands at 2 ½ over Harrisburg, and 3 ½ over Erie.

3 Up, 3 Down: Sterling rising, Slowey falling
Tony chimes in today with his weekly Monday piece "3 Up, 3 Down" and looks at a few of the good and not so good performances from the past week in the Indians’ minor league system. Insight gathered from talking with scouts, coaches and executives inside and outside the organization are used for this week's players: Tim Fedroff, Francisco Jimenez, Beau Mills, Luigi Rodriguez, Kevin Slowey and Felix Sterling.

Jim Piascik caught up with T Daddy Neal - as he is affectionately known - over the weekend and he explained how he's making the most of his opportunity and what he is working on this year.

Akron falls behind early loses 8-4 to Harrisburg
The Akron Aeros fell to the Harrisburg Senators 8-4 on Sunday afternoon after falling behind early in the first inning. Left-hander T.J. House took the bump for Akron against Harrisburg’s Mike Ballard. The Aeros were 2-0 in House’s two starts prior to Sunday’s game. House’s start was rough this time around as he surrendered four runs in the first.

Akron comeback falls one-run short
The Akron Aeros fought valiantly Saturday night, but ultimately fell to the Harrisburg Senators 6-5 in a high scoring affair. The two teams combined for 23 hits as the pitching on both sides failed to bring their A-games.

Aeros grounded by Harrisburg, 8-1
Akron starter Steven Wright left the game with a left foot injury and Harrisburg’s Danny Rosenbaum continued to dominate the Eastern League as the Aeros lost 8-1. Rosenbaum (5-0, 0.71) limited Akron base runners throughout the game, and only allowed a runner to advance to third base once.

McFarland sinks the Senators, 7-0
The Akron Aeros (22-9) opened the bottom half of the first inning with four runs and T.J. McFarland pitched seven shutout innings as the Aeros beat the Harrisburg Senators 7-0. After McFarland worked around two consecutive singles in the first inning, the Aeros hit four straight singles off Harrisburg starter Jeff Mandel. First baseman Chun Chen hit the fourth single, which was misplayed by Senators right fielder Destin Hood.

Minor Happenings: Sisco is working hard in extended
In today’s week ending edition of Minor Happenings, Tony gives us an update on the happenings out in extended spring training with lots of information from the front office on some players currently playing out there. Also, Tony takes a look at the continued improvements being made by Jesus Aguilar and T.J. McFarland, Joe Colon’s value, Trevor Crowe’s health, the debut of Shawn Morimando, the impressive start for Adam Abraham and Jeremie Tice, and lots more.

Aeros fall to Seawolves, 7-5
Akron’s Nick Weglarz hit a pair of home runs and finished with four RBIs, Wednesday, but the Aeros fell to the Erie SeaWolves, 7-5, in the final game of a three-game series at Canal Park. The SeaWolves (14-17) avoided the sweep, and dealt Aeros starter Giovanni Soto (3-1) his first loss of the season. The Aeros (21-9) had a four-game winning streak snapped. Erie built a 7-0 lead in the game, starting with three runs in the fourth off Soto.

Akron takes both games in doubleheader
The Akron Aeros held the Erie SeaWolves to one run in 14 innings of baseball Tuesday night, capturing both ends of a doubleheader, 1-0, and 4-1, at Canal Park. The Aeros (21-8) won for the fourth straight time and improved to a season-high 13 games over .500. The friendly confines of Canal Park have also been favorable for the Aeros, who have won 13 of 16 at home. In the nightcap, the Aeros scored four runs in the first inning off Erie starter James Avery (4-2). Jared Goedert clubbed a two-run double, and Davis Stoneburner added a two-run triple, for a 4-0 lead.
