After a low-scoring outing in their 2013 debut, the Clippers’ bats came alive in Indianapolis in game two of their series against the Indianapolis Indians. Indians’ center fielder Alex Presley and shortstop Jordy Mercer started off the game with back to back doubles, giving Indianapolis a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Hermida's grand slam gives Clippers 4-0 victory
The Columbus Clippers started off their season on a high note, defeating the Indianapolis Indians 4-0 on opening day. After struggling to find any kind of offense through the first seven innings, the Clippers’ bats finally came alive in the top of the eighth when designated hitter Jeremy Hermida launched a 1-0 pitch over the right field wall for a grand slam.

Who are the Most Impressive Prospects in 2013?
Continuing his series of looking at the Cleveland minor league system with varying adjectives, Jim Piascik lists the most impressive prospects as we head into the 2013 season. Some players are impressive with one or two standout tools, while others impress with their all-around game. Then & Now: Cord Phelps
Cord Phelps ended the 2012 season as a member of the Cleveland Indians roster. While he played well down the stretch, there are no guarantees that he'll be a member of the team come April. It's been an up-and-down road for Phelps and his baseball career as he's dominated the minors but struggled in the Majors. The IPI's Steve Orbanek takes a look back at his path in this week's edition of Then & Now.

Indians resign Rondon, lose Goedert
The Indians lost a long time member of their minor league system today as free agent third baseman/outfielder Jared Goedert agreed to a minor league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
