Around the Farm: June 15, 2013
It was business as usual down on the farm for the Indians on Saturday night. Cord Phelps remained hot, Lonnie Chisenhall is making it very difficult for the Indians to keep him in Columbus, and more. The IBI's Michal Hattery chimes in with his thoughts on the action in the minors.

Minor Happenings: Morimando proving to be a quick learner
After the copious amount of draft coverage on the site over the last two weeks, it is time to get things back on track and back to normal. That means catching up on the Happenings in the minor leagues. In today’s only edition of Minor Happenings this week, Tony gets us caught up on a few things and talks about the strides lefty Shawn Morimando is making and the consistency that Cody Anderson is showing in Carolina. He also provides several comments from Ross Atkins on the significant delivery adjustment Trevor Bauer is making, how Lonnie Chisenhall looks in Columbus, talks of a position change for Chun Chen, and tons more.

Sailing with the Clippers: 6/6/13 - 6/12/13
The month of June continues to be a painful one for the Clippers who are now 32-34 after another losing week which saw the team go 2-4 in two series against Toledo and Gwinnett. The starting pitching has been throwing better as of late but if Columbus expects to contend for a playoff spot, the rotation will have to delve deeper into games to prevent late-season exhaustion in the bullpen. Ethan Day is here with his weekly Clippers notebook...

Braves spear Clippers 9-2
Pitching in his first game since sustaining a left oblique injury in a game back on April 28, right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka tossed a scoreless 2 2/3 innings against the Gwinnett Braves Tuesday. After throwing 41 pitches (he was limited to 50), Matsuzaka exited the game and everything went downhill from there. Reliever Paolo Espino, Cole Cook and Bryan Price combined to surrender nine runs on 11 hits en route to a 9-2 beat down by the Braves.

Bauer still strives for consistency
It seems that Trevor Bauer has found a fit with the Cleveland Indians organization. Bauer has things he is working on before he can make the major leagues his permanent home, but between his intelligence and passion for the game there’s no doubt that is where he belongs. Bauer and pitching coordinator Ruben Niebla talk about his season to date.

Around The Farm: June 6, 2013
On a night where all the attention is on the MLB draft and new addition to the Cleveland organization Clint Frazier, there was still plenty of action throughout the minor leagues. Not all was good -- Carlos Carrasco was scratched from his start -- but some, like Akron finishing a sweep, was. The focus from Thursday is on an IBI favorite, however, who simply catches our collective attention. To find out who he is and all you need to know from Thursday in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Mud Hens walk-off against Clippers 8-7
After Clipper left fielder Cord Phelps tied the game at seven with a sharp single to center in the top of the eighth inning, the Toledo Mud Hens responded with a walk-off fielder’s choice in the bottom of the ninth to down Columbus 8-7 Thursday. Right-hander Carlos Carrasco was slated to make the start for Columbus, but for a reason that has yet to be announced, was pulled from the game.

Sailing with the Clippers: 5/30/13 - 6/5/13
The Columbus Clippers had another rough seven days, going 1-6 for the second-consecutive week and now sit an even 30-30. Despite the tough times, the Clippers remain in second place in the International League West, 10.5 games behind the Indianapolis Indians who are 41-20. The IBI's Ethan Day takes over the Clippers notebook and has all kinds of goodies to share...

Around The Farm: June 5, 2013
Baseball is a game of adjustments. The pitcher decides to throw a curveball after the batter hit his last fastball for a home run; a batter moves up in the box expecting an off-speed pitch; a shortstop moves toward second base because the batter has a knack for hitting the ball right back up the middle; any of these little shifts can change the outcome of a game. Sometimes players make big adjustments and it seems to lead to a breakthrough. To find out who might have made such a breakthrough and all you need to know about Wednesday in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Clippers blasted by Mud Hens 9-4
The Columbus Clippers had the tying run on the on-deck circle in the bottom of the ninth but ultimately fell to the Toledo Mud Hens 9-4 Wednesday. Joe Martinez's (1-5, 6.95 ERA) pitching woes continued, as he allowed seven earned runs (nine total) on 12 hits with four strikeouts and no walks in six innings.

Columbus wins wild affair 13-9
COLUMBUS- The Columbus Clippers faced the Toledo Mudhens Tuesday night in the midst a seven-game losing streak. Thanks to an amped up offense, the streak is no more as the Clippers came out on top with a 13-9 win.

Columbus losing streak moves to seven

Indians crush Clippers, 13-3
COLUMBUS- There is a popular saying in baseball, “You live and die on the long ball.” In the Columbus Clippers case Sunday, they definitely died by it. Led by seven homeruns, the Indianapolis Indians routed the Clippers in a 13-3 affair on Sunday.

Clippers battle but lose to Indians 10-9 in tenth
The Columbus Clippers just can’t seem to catch a break these days. After trailing 5-0 early in the game, the Clippers battled back to take a 8-5 lead but could not hold on to it as they collapsed against the Indianapolis Indians 10-9 in extra innings Saturday.

Clippers trounced by Indians, 11-0
In retrospective, the Clippers might have wished that the downpour prior to Friday’s action would have canceled the game all together. After the hour and 15 minute rain delay, Columbus was beat up in an 11-0 routing by the Indianapolis Indians.
